Good morning (again), for some reason blogger doesn't seem to be scheduling my posts but hey ho better late than never lol. We've got a new challenge starting at Fashionable Stamping Challenges and this time around it was my turn to choose the theme and I went for Birds and Bees. As ever there's a $20 voucher up for grabs from Flonzcraft so ink up those stamps and play along to be in with a chance to win! I've used both birds and bees on this project which began life as a picture that had hung in my kitchen for years.
Here's a pic of the frame before I altered it
It already had a lovely crackle texture so I gave it a coat of gesso and added some Maimeri Light Modelling Paste though a Crafters Workshop harlequin stencil, once that was all dry I added colour with acrylic paints. I decoupaged some gorgeous flowers cut from napkins and applied with Maimeri Matte Gel medium and added some silver gilding wax to highlight the texture. Next I stamped some bees from Chocolate Baroque, coloured them with Graph'Its and added some sparkly Mod Podge to the wings
The little scene in side the aperture was made using stamps from Chocolate Baroque and Indigo Blu to create the background, the focal image is from Flonzcraft (I love their silhouette stamps!!). I added a couple more bees and adhered the panel inside the aperture
The gorgeous tea party birds are all stamps from Crafty Individuals, coloured with pencils, cut out and popped up with silicone glue. The birdy at the top left was a Craft Stamper freebie
To finish off I added lots of gorgeous little daisies from Cuddly Buddly, distressed all the edges with a little vintage photo distress ink and a touch of gilding wax and gave everything a coat of Maimeri Matte Gel to protect it.
I'm entering this in the following challenges:
A Vintage Journey: things with wings
Crazy for Challenges: stencilling
Cuddly Buddly: Daisies
Fussy and Fancy: things with wings
Open Minded: something with wings
Paper Shelter: summer
Sweet Stampin: say it with flowers
That's Crafty: Birds
I hope you're enjoying your weekend, I've got an extra day off work tomorrow so I can have a lovely lazy Sunday without thinking of going back to the grindstone lol. Thanks so much for visiting today, hope to see you again soon
