Anything Creative/Mixed Media goes at We Love 2 Create

Good morning folks, its inspiration time at We love 2 Create as you've still got time to enter our Anything Creative/Mixed media Goes challenge. For my DT project this week, I've used a stampbord ATC and a couple of stampbord dominos which i've joined with little metal hinges from my stash to create a little tryptich (never sure how to spell that lol). I got to work with lots of PanPastels, some of the gorgeous Premium Craft Brands Stamps and a versamark inkpad to create lots of depth then used my scratch tools to add highlights. I stamped and embossed the clock faces with gold embossing powder then applied PanPastel White Coarse Medium followed by a thick layer of rock candy crackle paint. I gold embossed around the edges of the stampbord and also embossed the sentiment near the top of the ATC. I gold embossed the frame on some white card coloured with my Pans and cut out the flourish to pop on the top of the center panel. To finish off I added some dots here and there with my Graph'It Gold Shake pen, this stuff is gorgeously glittery but it doesn't show up in the pic.

Swirls on the catwalk at FSC

Good morning folks, how's your weekend going? Its awful weather here (just for a change) so its a good excuse to bunker up in the warm and do some crafting. Today is an exciting day for us all at Fashionable Stamping Challenges as we've got a brand new site so don't forget to update your bookmarks! The theme for our new challenge is 'Swirls', chosen my my talented teamie Shirley so ink up your stamps and join us on the catwalk! 

I started off my covering a canvas board with one of the gorgeous 'Love Letters' paper downloads from Chocolate Baroque. Next I used Stampendous stamps on tissue paper, Deco Lady and swirls from one of the Stampendous clear stamp sets. I also stamped the lady on Neenah card, coloured her with promarkers  and cut her out; layering all the elements up with Maimeri Glossy gel medium. I've added a twiddleybitz butterfly flourish, painted with crackle paint and with a pen nib added for the body (a right bargain from the Fruit Pixie, i think they were 5 for a pound!!) And here's a pic of the Deco Lady, shes a really lovely stamp to colour but a bit of a headache to cut out those curls lol.

To finish off i've added ribbon, lace, faux pearls and a metal filigree corner from The Funkie Junkie Boutique.

Anything goes at FSC

Happy Birthday to us, Happy birthday to us, Happy birthday to uuuuuuuuuus....!!!! Guess what, its our first birthday at Fashionable Stamping Challenges! Where did the last year go? Goodness me I think I must be getting old. Anyway to celebrate our first birthday, Dot has picked the theme and we're modelling our 'Anything Goes' creations on the catwalk. As always we've got a fabby prize from Marina, our lovely sponsor from Cottage Crafts. 

I've made a canvas for my DT project, inspired by the mega talented Jaine's project in Craft Stamper. I used to be on Sarah Hurley's DT with Jaine and her work is amazing so do pop over to her blog and check it out. I was really intrigued by the way Jaine had created lots of texture by using die cuts and had to have a bash myself. I stuck lots of die cuts onto my canvas and gave it a good coat of gesso. Next came lots of watered down acrylic paint and then out came the polyfiller. I applied the polyfiller through my current favourite crafters workshop template and left it overnight to dry. Once it was dry I replaced the mask and applied flitter glu and added Yorkshire Dales gilding flakes . These flakes are the most scrummy colour but it hasn't shown up too well in the pic.

Next I stamped the text stamps on tissue paper with versamark and embossed with gold EP and then cut the words out and added them with matte multi medium. I got a bit carried away with the messiness then and splashed on gold acylic paint and once that was dry I liberally sprayed bits of the canvas with chalkboard glimmer mist. I uses a derwent pastel pencil to add some shadow to the die cuts and then added some embossed and glittered butterflies and a bird and bird cage made using Marianne dies. I just love this little birdie die cut, soooooo cute. Last but not least I added some thick gloopy splodges of rock candy crackle paint.

I had soooooo much fun making this canvas but the colours haven't show up too well in the photo.

Phew its all go at the minute, our little Barney is certainly keeping us on our toes. Yesterday he started digging in the garden and unearthed one of Benji's huge bones! What a clever boy he is, although Benji wasn't too chuffed lol. I took a photo of him digging what looks like a dinosaur bone up but I took it on my phone and I can't work out how to get it off the phone and on to here. EEEk I'm hopeless with technology and my son has persuaded me to get a blackberry thingumagig, oh dear I can feel a headache coming on at the thought of trying to work out how to use it. Better go as its well past my bedtime but before I do, try and pop over to my teamies blogs as they have got some stunning projects to share with you

The Magic of Mardi Gras

Hi there, we're celebrating Mardi Gras at Rainbow Lady's Challenge this week!

 I've struggled to get a decent pic of my project as it is seriously sparkly lol. I made the background using radiant rain paint dabbers, black crackle paint and stickles and matted it on purple glitter card. 

It looks much nicer in real life honest :-)

The image is a stamp from Debbi Moore, coloured with promarkers and die cut with a nestie. I created a faux nestie from more glitter card and then disaster struck ... i used silicone glue from Wilkinsons to attache the image as dst never seems to stick properly to glitter card and the blinking stuff showed through!!! EEEEEk, panic set in but i managed to hide the marks with some diecut swirly bits lol. I've added ribbon and lace from my stash and made a couple of hat pins from headpins and black pearls and purple  crystal beads. To finish off I made some faux black pearls with black cosmic shimmer glue for the corners
