The Magic of Mardi Gras

Hi there, we're celebrating Mardi Gras at Rainbow Lady's Challenge this week!

 I've struggled to get a decent pic of my project as it is seriously sparkly lol. I made the background using radiant rain paint dabbers, black crackle paint and stickles and matted it on purple glitter card. 

It looks much nicer in real life honest :-)

The image is a stamp from Debbi Moore, coloured with promarkers and die cut with a nestie. I created a faux nestie from more glitter card and then disaster struck ... i used silicone glue from Wilkinsons to attache the image as dst never seems to stick properly to glitter card and the blinking stuff showed through!!! EEEEEk, panic set in but i managed to hide the marks with some diecut swirly bits lol. I've added ribbon and lace from my stash and made a couple of hat pins from headpins and black pearls and purple  crystal beads. To finish off I made some faux black pearls with black cosmic shimmer glue for the corners

Happy Birthday CD Sunday

CD Sunday is celebrating its first birthday!! So of course the theme for this weeks challenge is

"Happy Birthday"

I'm really pleased to be Guest Designer for such a special challenge and in honour of the occasion decided to put my stamps away and get printing. i've used a beautiful bp and decoupage from Debbi Moore's Evergreen' cd and printed them on pearlescent paper.

The BP is matted on gold mirri card and the decoupaged lady is glittered to highlight the pattern on her dress. I've added some green ribbon from Crafty Ribbons, some gold mirri die cut swirls and made a shrink plastic 'Happy birthday' charm. I die cut the shink plastic (nestie labels 4) and stamped Happy birthday on it with ivy green brilliance ink and covered the back of the shink plastic with galaxy gold brilliance ink. I made holes with my cropodile and then heated it with my heat gun. I added a green heart shaped bead from my stash and attached it all with jump rings. To finish off I've added some pale gold dew drops from Crafty Emma's

Masked Ball at Rainbow Lady's Challenge

Hi there, i've had a really hectic week so far and I can't believe its Thursday already! My feet don't seem to have touched ground, I've been a real 'manic bird' lol. Anyway Thursday means a new challenge at the lovely Rainbow Lady's Challenge blog and our theme this week is 'Masked Ball'. We also have a generous sponsor, our lucky winner will receive a prize from Joanna Sheen!!

For my card this week I've used a beautiful stamp from Debbi Moore Designs, I love this elegant lady, she is such a 'glamour puss' lol. She is fab to colour, i've used promarkers and added a little glitter. The beautiful background scene is from Debbi Moore's 'Evergreen' CD as is the bp. The ribbon is from Crafty ribbons, the flowers are from my stash and the beautiful feather was kindly donated by my gorgeous Yellow Crowned Amazon Parrot 'Sammy'.

As a finishing touch I thought one of Crafty Ann's gorgeous Venetian Mask digi's would be  just the right embellie for this card. As usual I've coloured with promarkers and added green and gold glitter for some sparkle.

Use a CD at Rainbow Lady's Challenge

Hi there, Thursday is here again so that means a new challenge over at Rainbow Lady's Challenge blog and this week our theme is 'USE A CD' and we are sponsored by Amber Ink. The DT were lucky enough to be able to use some gorgeous stamps from Amber Ink for our projects this week. I've used this sassy young lady chatting on the phone, I really love this image, she is so gorgeous and its great to see a girl who's a bit cuddly lol. As soon as I saw her I could see her chatting on the phone to her friend, telling her all about her gorgeous new engagement ring!!

I've coloured the image with promarkers and added some lime stickles to her engagement ring with a dot of glossy accents over the top, its really sparkly IRL but hasn't shown up on the pic too well. The cushion she is leaning on is paper pieced, using a bp from a Debbi Moore's evergreen Cd (a freebie with this months magazine from Debbi Moore Crafts)  and then I fussy cut the whole image (it took ages I can tell you lol)

 The bps are also from the same cd, printed on pearlescent paper, I love these papers and they look scrummy printed out but they are a bit camera shy lol. I've stamped a swirly border around the main bp with a stamp from HOTP and also stamped and embossed a chandelier. The other cushions are made using stamps from Amber Inks on the same bp, overstamped with a background stamp from Elusive Images. I've added a green/black ribbon along the top of the card to finish off.
