Halloween Domino Book from Chocolate Baroque

Good morning folks, my project today is a little domino book made using Stampbord and this month's gorgeous new stamps from Chocolate Baroque. I've used stamps from Hocus Pocus and Put a Spell on You, you can find both sets here and even better they are on special offer too!

I began by taking two Stampbord dominos (you can find them here) and applied Distress Inks in Seedless Preserves, Spiced Marmalade, Peeled Pain randomly with cut and dry foam. I stamped the images and added colour with Derwent Colorsoft pencils before triple embossing with clear embossing powder. I used a gold krylon pen to edge the stampbord.

Next I cut a strip of white card from a 12x12 sheet and used my Stampbord to mark the size so that it was just a couple of millimetres smaller than the domino. I coloured the card with the same colours of distress ink and got busy stamping lots of different images from the new stamp sheets and again coloured with my pencils, adding a few white highlights here and there.

Tip: use a little diluted bleach to remove colour from areas you want to be white and if you need to go over the area with a white pen.

 I scored the card strip at 1" intervals and concertina folded it all before attaching the covers. Don't forget to add the ribbon to fasten the little book before you attach the covers to the strip.

Chocolate Baroque Colour Challenge

Pinecone Frame from Chocolate Baroque

Good morning my lovelies, I'm running late with my posts so here's another Christmas card made using the gorgeous pinecone stamps from Chocolate Baroque. You can find them on Christmas Candelight  here and while you're there check out the amazing new release stamps, they are Halloween themed and they are fab!!

I used the pinecone stamps to create a frame by stamping with Memento Rich Cocoa ink, I cut around the inside of the frame with a craft knife and coloured the frame with Derwent Pencils, inking around the edges with Pine Needles distress ink. The gorgeous little scene is one of my favourite of last years Christmas stamps, its a clear stamp called Snowy Cottage, again coloured with pencils and I've also added a little glamour dust. I've layered the frame up with 3d foam, edged with a gold krylon pen and popped it all on a kraft card.

Christmas Tag from Chocolate Baroque

Hi there folks my  project today features some of this months new stamps from Chocolate Baroque. I've created a large tag using Bearing Gifts and stamps from Sparkling Trees and some stencilling for the background.

I've used one of the Ranger Giant Manila tags for this project. I began by splodging some Distress Stains (Gold, Picket Fence, Tea Dye and Broken China) onto my craft sheet and misting with a little water. I dragged the tag through the colour several time and while it was drying I splashed on a little water. I stamped the stars from Christmas Candlelight with Versamark ink and embossed with Gold embossing powder and then applied texture paste through a star stencil. Once the texture paste was dry I added gilding wax in shades of gold, silver and copper to the stars.

I stamped 'Bearing Gifts' and coloured with Derwent pencils, cut the image out and layered it up over some hessian, gold mesh and a little green ribbon. I added a sentiment from Christmas Magic, stamped on a little kraft tag and embossed with Gold EP.

Sparkling Christmas Scene from Chocolate Baroque

Good morning folks, my  first post today features stamps from Christmas Candlelight and Sparkling Trees, two of this months new releases from Chocolate Baroque that I've  used to make Christmas scene.

I love to create scenic cards so I really enjoyed making this one. The stamps from the two A5 stamp sheets work beautifully together. I began by stamping the images using Memento Tuxedo Black ink. I used PanPastels to add colour to the background so I didn't need to mask the stamped images as PanPastels are erasable. The only thing I had to mask was the moon.

I used shades of Blue and Grey PanPastel to Create the sky and the snowy hills and I added some silver to the moon for a little shimmer and some falling snowflakes with a white Graph'It Shake pen.

 I used a black fineliner pen to extend the post under the lantern. Next I coloured the trees, reindeer and lantern with coloured pencils. It was looking a little bare in the top left corner so I used one of the tree stamps as a branch, again colouring with pencils.

I've matted on white and red card and added pearls, ribbon topped with buttons and a little charm to finish the card off. The sentiment is from Christmas Magic, stamped with Rhubarb Stalk Memento Ink.

Seaside or On the beach at Fashionable Stamping Challenges

Hi there my lovelies, here's my project for our 'Seaside/On the beach' challenge over at Fashionable Stamping Challenges. Its not quite finished but I got kind of stuck so it will have to wait a wee while until I decide what else to add. As always we've got a fab prize for our random winner (a $20 voucher from Flonzcraft) and Top 3 honours up for grabs too! We are a stamping challenge though so no digi stamps are allowed.

I've had this boat shape shelf for years so decided to give it a bit of a makeover. I've painted the outside with gesso and then lots of different acrylic paints and stamped with a text stamp using Potting Soil Archival ink before I sanded it for a distressed look. Next came some stencilling with Maimeri Glassy Gel and a Crafters Workshop stencil, you can't see it too well on the pic. I added a little gilding wax here and there around the edges too.

An ideaology frame fitted this Chocolate Baroque Sentiment a treat, I added a little more gilding wax too. The beach huts are from Chocolate Baroque, coloured with Distress Markers and Derwent pencils. I coloured the shelf with PanPastels and added shells and a straw hat embellishment.

The middle shelf was made by creating a PanPastel background and cutting some wave shapes from white card. I coloured them with Pans and added white glue and glitter. I stamped the image (Santoro Stamps) and coloured her with my Graph'it markers before carefully cutting her out and layering her and the waves up with ginormous blobs of silicone glue for some dimension.

I've added some fishing net, shells and a message in a bottle that I'd crackled and coloured with Alcohol Inks.

The lower shelf is under the sea and again created a background with PanPastels, stamped the undersea border from Chocolate Baroque and coloured with Derwent pencils. The mermaid is also from Santoro stamps, she's been coloured with Graph'it markers and cut out before layering her up with more silicone glue. I've added some muslin fabric,shells and pearls to this layer.

Anything goes at Eclectic Ellapu

Good morning folks, its time for our brand new challenge at Eclectic Ellapu and this month the Pink Ladies have a nice easy 'Anything Goes' theme so there's no excuse not to share your gorgeous project with us. The lovely girls on the purple team have a fab challenge and loads of inspiration too so pop over to the challenge blog and check it out!

I've made a little baby themed wall hanging for my DT project. I used freebie papers to cover an MDF hexagon shape and distressed with tea dye distress ink and popped some pearls in the centre. I've used a gorgeous little digi image from Mo Manning, she's called 'Baby Girl' and you can find her here. I've coloured her with Derwent pencils and die cut her with a circle die, before layering her up over a spellbinders die cut. I distressed with spun sugar and tea dye distress ink.

I've added lace, ribbon, paper flowers, a button topped with a twine bow and a little baby heart charm to finish off.

Hot Sunny Colours at Vintage Stamping Challenges

Hello folks, well can you believe June is here already? Its been so cold here it certainly doesn't seem like summer but we're bringing you some sunshine with our new challenge at Vintage Stamping Challenges where our theme is 'Hot Sunny Colours'. You don't have to make a vintage project to enter, just follow the challenge theme but we are a stamping challenge so no digistamps are allowed. Our lucky winner will receive a generous $20 voucher to spend at  Flonzcraft so its well worth playing along with us. If you need some sunny inspiration pop over and check out my teamies beautiful projects.

For my DT card I've used 'Girl on a Windy Hill' from Flonzcraft, stamped with distress ink and coloured with Derwent pencils. I die cut the image with a spellbinders die and distressed the edges with scattered straw distress ink.

I made the background using various shades of yellow and orange distress ink, splodged on my craft mat and misted with water before swooshing my card through the inky mess. I added faux stitching with a White Graph'It Shake pen and then to finish off I've used ribbon, lace, paper flowers, a metal butterfly embossed with shabby White Frantage powder, some faux pearls and a couple of die cut swirls.

Christmas Window from Chocolate Baroque

Good morning my lovelies, I'm absolutely loving this new stamp from Chocolate Baroque! It's called 'Dressmaker's Window' and its such a useful stamp. For this card I've teamed it with an old favourite stamp from Family Christmas.

I began by stamping the tree and rocking horse stamp with Memento Tuxedo Black ink, I masked the image using masking tissue before stamping the window. I coloured the images and a snowy scene behind the window with Derwent Pencils and added some snow to the sky with a white pen. For a little Christmas sparkle I used stickles to create the lights on the tree.

I used a Sofft Sponge and Ultramarine Blue PanPastel to create the striped 'wallpaper' in the background. Its really easy to do this if you use the square edged Sofft Bar (here) and run it down the edge of a ruler. Use the ruler to 'mask' the white stripes and in a couple of minutes your background is done. I used grey PanPastel to ground the tree and rocking horse.

I used silver mirri card distressed with a craft knife to mat and layer and to finish off I've added little pearls, ribbon, pompom trim and a tiny snowflake button topped with a twine bow.

Chocolate Baroque Colour Challenge

Hi there folks, I'm very late posting this card which is my DT offering for our colour challenge at Chocolate Baroque Challenge but you've still got time to enter. and as always there's a fab prize for our lucky winner and Top 3 honours up for grabs too. We've got a beautiful colour palette to inspire us this month



I've made a card using a  distress ink background made with Aged Mahogany, Shaded Lavender, Scattered Straw distress inks. The image is one of my favourite stamps at the minute, she's called Lady in Hat and you can find her here.

I stamped and masked the lady and then swooshed her through my distress inks on my craft mat. Then I removed the mask and coloured her with Derwent pencils. I've added ribbon, lace and a pretty button and layered the lady up over a doily. To finish off i've added faux stitching to the corners.

Gorgeous free download from Chocolate Baroque

Good evening folks, I'm running late as always but I just wanted to give you a heads up as there is a gorgeous free download backing paper to pick up over at the Chocolate Baroque Challenge blog

You can't see if very well as this pic is rubbish but its a gorgeous wood effect paper, I've altered it with a Crafters Workshop stencil and used both watered down Maimeri White gesso and Maimeri Glassy Gel medium to add some texture. The focal images are some old favourites from Chocolate Baroque, the mermaid is from Mermaid Queen and the gorgeous border stamp in the foreground is from Seaside Dreams (as is the sentiment). All the images were stamped on kraft card and coloured with pencils, I didn't do much blending as I wanted a sketchy effect. I've used recycled corrugated card as a background and added some cheesecloth and a few little shells and pearls. I've also added some plaited twine to hang my little wall hanging

Trees with Autumn Colours at Fashionable Stamping Challenges

Hi there folks, I'm running a bit late with my DT card for Fashionable Stamping Challenges, its not bloggers fault this time lol. I thought the new challenge started next week, so I seem to have lost a full week somewhere. Anyway better late than never, our theme this time around is 'Trees with Autumn Colours' and we've got a fab prize of a $20 voucher for Flonzcraft so I hope you're going to play along with us. Don't forget we're a stamping challenge though so no digis allowed!

For my card I've made background using the cling film technique and distress stains/glimmer mists overstamped with some gorgeous leaves from Heartfelt Creations. The focal image is from Chocolate Baroque, stamped with Memento Rich Cocoa and coloured with both Graph'It markers and Inkense pencils. I've added some raffia lace, lots of leaves cut from scraps of the background card, some little berries and of course seam binding ribbon and a bow.

Guest Designer at Country View Crafts Challenge

Good morning folks, Monday morning already!! Its a very exciting day for me as I'm over the moon to be joining the talented team at Country View Challenges and a Guest Designer for their 'Nautical Challenge'. If you've got time,do pop over and have a look as the team always have some amazing inspiration!

For my project I made the base using mountboard (I'd seen them on C&C and decided to have a go at making my own) and created some texture with a Crafters Workshop woodgrain stencil and Maimeri Light modelling paste. I added some colour with acrylic paints, distress stains and added some coffee for a bit more depth here and there.

The focal scene was made using stamps from Chocolate Baroque stamped on kraft card painted with gesso. I've coloured the scene with Derwent Coloursoft pencilsand then tore the edges.

I stamped the sentiment and seagulls in the sky using stamps from Crafty Individuals and layered the scene up over some cheesecloth and some netting. Next came more stamping,with a selection of postcards and seaside images from Crafty Individuals stamped on coffee misted card and popped under the right hand side of the scene. I added the lovely bathing belle (also from Crafty Individuals) and coloured with Graph'It Markers to the left hand side of the scene.

To finish off I've added lots of little shells

Fall splendour at Craft a Scene

Good afternoon folks, time for a new challenge at Craft a Scene and this month our theme is 'Fall Splendour' . The weather is definitely starting to change in my little corner of the country and I can just see the first signs of the leaves starting to change colour. I just love the colours of autumn and really enjoyed making this card.

I began by creating a background with PanPastels, the sky was created with turquoise tint PanPastel and I added a sun with Hansa Yellow Tint, the foreground was coloured with a little Yellow Green Shade.

All the stamps used are from Lavinia stamps, I used lots of masking to create my little scene and stamped the images with Memento Rich Cocoa ink. I stamped the leaves and the foliage on the trees with Memento Ink in Bamboo Leaves, Rhubarb Stalk, Tangelo and Canteloupe

I added some colour to the images with Inktense pencils and used my Graph'It silver shake pen to give the wings some sparkle.. The sentiment is also from Lavinia Stamps, stamped with versamark and embossed with gold WOW Embossing powder.

Honeysuckle Butterfly from Chocolate Baroque

Good morning my lovelies, well it looks like summer is back with us with lovely blue sky and sunshine. I'm just going to take the dogs to the park and make the most of the weather but before I go I just wanted to share this card made with the beautiful image from Honeysuckle Butterfly, one of the new releases from Chocolate Baroque (you can find all the new stamps here)

card features this lovely image stamped with Memeno Tuxedo Black ink and coloured with pencils. I've die cut the bottom of the card and dusted around the edges with Picked Raspberry Distress ink.

The background was made by simply applying distress inks (Picked Raspberry, Wild Honey and Ripe Persimmon) to my craft mat, misting with water and swooshing my card though the ink. To finish off I've added a hot pink bow and a pretty button from my stash.

Chocolate Baroque Colour Challenge

Good morning my lovelies, how's your week going? We're half way to the weekend  and its a long weekend off work to look forward to :-)  Its an exciting day today as its the start of our second challenge at Chocolate Baroque Challenge blog, do pop over to the challenge blog and check out the colour swatch for inspiration and also have a look at the fabulous projects from my lovely talented teamies. There's a fab prize for our lucky winner too so remember you've got to be in it to win it lol.

My camera has really changed the colours on this card, I've actually used Brushed Corduroy distress ink but it looks really bright green lol. Anyway I began by making a distress ink background using Stormy Sky, Brushed Corduory and a little Wild Honey distress ink. I stamped the flourish from Decadent Brocade  with versamark and embossed with distress EP, this is my absolute favourite flourish, its so pretty its a real shame to cover it up with anything.

I just love this butterfly, its from Patchwork Butterfly . I embossed with WOW black EP and coloured with Inktense pencils before cutting out and layering up with silicone glue.

Home for Christmas by Chocolate Baroque

Good morning, how are you getting on with those Christmas cards? This months new stamps from Chocolate Baroque are a real inspiration to get ahead and make a start on your Christmas cards. I've got a couple of samples to share today, the first features stamps from Snowy Scenes

I created the base layer by stamping the cottage and adding some colour with Derwent pencils. The top layer was stamped with the robin and the stag and again coloured with pencils. I used a spellbinders die to cut the aperture, carefully cutting round the images to slot the die behind them so they weren't die cut  - soooo fiddly but I love the effect.

 I used a zig glue pen around the edge of the aperture and on the cottage scene and sprinkled with glitter. I added one of my favourite Christmas sentiments and then mounted the top layer on 3d foam, adding a white bow to the top of the aperture.

Include a 4 legged animal at Craft a Scene

Hi there, we've got a brand new challenge starting at Craft A Scene and this month our theme is to Include a Four Legged Animal, my teamies have created some stunning projects to inspire you so if you've got time pop over to the challenge blog and have a look. I don't use a lot of animal stamps on my cards so I had to have a good rummage in my stash and managed to find these cows and horse from StampScapes.

The background was made using a stencil from That Special Touch and distress inks in shades of blue and green. I added some definition with coloured pencils and then stamped in the animals. I used water to create the clouds and remove the green ink from the cow - a green and brown cow looks a bit weird lol. Finally I added a sentiment from Chocolate Baroque

GDT at Scrapping for Fun

Good morning my lovelies, the sun is shining and I'm a very happy bunny today as on only is this the first of ten days off work but i'm also one of the Guest Designers over at Scrapping 4 Fun! How exciting, I was over the moon when the lovely Rachelle invited me to join them for their new challenge and as the theme is Use a stamp or a digi  was a great opportunity to have a play! The DT and guest designers have come up with some stunning projects so do pop over and have a look.

I've altered an MDF hear using Dutch Doobadoo Brick stencil, Maimeri Light Modelling Paste and a honeycomb stamp from Indigo Blu. Once all the texure was dry I painted with acrylic paint in a creamy yellow shade. The focal image is also by Indigo Blu and I coloured it with Graph'It markers and Inkense pencils.

I've used another Indigo Blu stamp for the sentiment which I've stamped in soft green ink, torn up and added to the background. Next came lots of paper flowers and die cut leaves and a butterfly charm that I painted with gesso and distressed with sandpaper before applying treasure gold. To finish off I've topped the heart with a seam binding bow and another little rose.

Feeling Blue?

Good morning folks, have you seen the gorgeous new stamps from Chocolate Baroque Patchwork Landscapes is an A4 sheet of loads of fabulous stamps as its a new release its on offer this month. I've used the new stamps to create a one layer card.

I began by masking the edges of the card and then stamped the images with blue Versafine ink. I masked the moon and inked in the sky using a shaving brush and distress inks (Faded Jeans, Stormy Skies and a little Chipped Sapphire). I coloured the images with Derwent Colorsoft Pencils and added the sentiment and a couple of punched butterflies.
