Anything Creative/Mixed Media Goes at We Love to Create

Good morning my lovelies, it's time for a new challenge over at We Love 2 Create and our theme is 'Anything Mixed Media/Creative Goes' just for a change lol. We've got a fabulous prize of some crafty goodies from Premium Craft Brands for our lucky winner and you don't even have to use our products to enter!

For my DT project, I've made a spring themed canvas using my PanPastels. I began by using a little Hansa Yellow and Bright Yellow Green PanPastel on a canvas board, I blended it with Colourless Blender to give a soft wash of colour. I applied the same colours on some white card but added more depth by layering the PanPastels and then spritzing with glimmer mists. Once this was dry I tore it into trips and applied it to the canvas. Next came some texture paste through a stencil and a spinkle of glamour dust for some sparkle.

I made the flowers using Foamiran which I cut with Sizzix and Sheena  Douglas dies,  I'm soooo loving Foamiran at the minute! I've used Yellow and white Foamiran for these flowers and added a little colour with gelatos. T
he foliage was made using scraps of the backing card die cut with Polkadoodles dies. I stamped the sentiment (from IndigoBlu) onto another scrap of the backing card with versamark and embossed with White EP and distressed it with a craft knife. I layered the flowre and foliage up over a scrap of cheesecloth and a paper doily. For a finish touch I added a few little raindrops by applying dots of glossy accents and using a cocktail stick to drag the drops to create a drop shape.

I'm entering this project in the following challenges:

Brown Sugar: no image, just a sentiment
Frilly and Funkie: put on your inking cap
That's Crafty: Bright

Thanks so much for visiting today, hope to see you again soon

Stampbord domino book

Good morning crafty friends. It's my turn to share a project over on the Chocolate Baroque DT blog and today I'm sharing a little book made for the launch of the Russian collection stamps and stencils. You can find them all here

I made the covers from Stampbord dominos, I love stampbord as it takes ink beautifully. I stamped the little skyline from Babushka and added colour with Sakura Stardust pens and a water brush. Once that was dry I added some gold embossing and some glossy accents. I also embossed around the edges with WOW Gold EP

To make the concertina pages I cut a strip of card to size and folded it to fit the stampbord covers.  I stamped  the Silhouette Palaces with versamark and embossed with black EP. I then used Twinkling H2Os to paint in the sky before adding a few stars, white highlights to the towers and a little moon with silver paint.

I'm entering this project in the following challenges:

Addicted to Stamps: not a square card
An Inky Mess: Mixed Media
Lemon Shortbread: Anything goes
Simon Says Stamp: Anything goes

Anything goes at Polkadoodles

Good morning my lovelies, are you ready for the weekend? I certainly am and once I've muddled through today at work I've got a week off!! We've got a fab challenge at Polkadoodles, with a theme of Anything Goes. There's a lovely prize for our lucky winner and of course there is lots of inspiration from my talented teamies too. This time around we're all using some of the amazing design sheets from Polkadoodles, they are perfect for a quick and easy card as they contain lots of embellishments, sentiments and a focal image too.

I've made a cute chocolate themed card using one of the papers and Design Sheets from Winnie Sugar Sprinkles, you can find the sheet I used here or you can buy the full collection here.  I printed the sheet out twice so I could decoupage some of the images and I also printed one of the ppers from the collection. I've just done a wee bit of cutting and snipping, added a sprinkle of glamour dust and popped the card together. Easy!

I'm entering this project in the following challenges:

Artistic Inspirations: Anything goes
Crafty Sentiments: anything goes
Simon Says Stamp: Anything goes

Thanks  so much for visiting today hope to see you again soon

A message from Russia

Good morning my lovelies,  here's a large tag I made for the launch of the new Russian themed collection from Chocolate Baroque on Hochanda recently. You can find all the new stamp and some fabulous stencils here

I began by making a background using distress stains (Tarnished Brass, Vintage Photo, Broken China and Faded Jeans). I stamped here and there with  the beautiful Russian Exquisite Egg stamps but holding it in my hand so I just caught parts of the design and then embossed with gold embossing powder. I also added a little crackle with the crackle stamp using the same technique. I took one of the stencils and inked through it with a deep blue inkpad and then applied a layer of glassy gel medium. While that was drying I made the rest of the elements. I stamped Katya, again with dark blue ink and cut her out, I inked a post card from my stash and used one of the Silhouette Palace stamps and faux postage paper to make the 'stamps'.

Once everything was dry I assembled my tag, adding some flowers, pearl trim, charms, lace and ribbon from my stash.

I'm entering this project in the following challenges:

Creative Fingers: Anything goes
Stamping Sensations: April - anything goes

Thanks so much for visiting today, hope to see you again soon

Vintage or Shabby at Eclectic Ellapu

Good morning folks, have you had a good Easter weekend? I hope so! It's lovely to have a few days off work but it's back to the grindstone for me this morning unfortunately. After being without internet for ages I'm catching up with some posts that I missed. This is for our Vintage/Shabby Chic challenge at Eclectic Ellapu which started on 1st April but there's still loads of time to play along so if you have  a minute, grab a cuppa and pop over to check out my teamies beautiful artwork.

I've made a double sided tag for my DT project, one side is a little more feminine and shabby chic and the other side is a more masculine vintage project. I've used my new Indigo Blu acrylic paints and stamps to create this one. I began with a wash of Olive Waistcoat on a tag. Once that was dry I applied Pink Iced Gem acrylic paint through an Indigo Blu rose stencil. followed by a layer of Ultra Thick Slap it on and a dusting of clear microbeads. I just love this effect but it's hard to see on the pic.

I stamped an IB text stamp here and there with more of the Pink Iced Gem paint and then set to adding some embellishemnts - lace, ribbon, bead trim, a few paper flowers and a key. The little plaque was painted with more of the pale pink paint and stamped with a sentiment and grasses from IB Victorian Garden, love these stamps!! The butterfly is from the same set too.

For the other side of my tag I used more Olive Waistcoat paint and also some Leather Corset. I stamped with some of the smaller stamps from Chemistry Lab and grasses from Victorian Garden using Potting Soil Archival ink. The clock was made using an Indigo Blu stencil and gilding flakes. The little chap was coloured with acrylics and i added highlights with gilding flakes and a quickie glue pen. I added a few little cogs and a sentiment, also from Chemistry Lab.

I really enjoyed making this, I love these new paint colours!

I'm entering this project in the following challenges:
Addicted to Stamps: not a square card
Creative Artiste: Anything goes
My Time to Craft: no designer paper
Stamping Sensations: April - anything goes

Anything Creative/Mixed Media Goes at WL2C

Good morning folks, I'm back with my second post today and this project is for our new challenge over at We Love 2 Create where our theme is 'Anything Creative/Mixed Media Goes'. As always there is some fabulous crafty stash waiting for our lucky winner from Premium Craft Brands and you don't have to use our products to play along!

I've upcycled a cheap picture frame using my Pan Pastels for my DT project this time around. A began with a coat of white gesso and then some crackle paint. Once that was all dry I applied PanPastels in shades of Yellow and Bright Yellow Green and added some brown for a more distressed look.

The little mouse peeking out from the leaf is made of resin (from the Trinket Parlour) I primed him with matte medium and then painted him with acrylic paints from Indigo Blu. I made a woodgrain background using texture paste through a stencil and then coloured this with Raw Umber and Burnt Sienna PanPastels. I gave it a coat of gloss medium to seal it and give a little shine.

The flowers are made from Foamiran which I die cut and coloured with gelatos and acylic paint. The leaves were die cut from kraft glassine and again, coloured with PanPastels.

I love this little mouse, he's so cute!

I'm entering this project in the following challenges:

Beautiful Katya

Good morning my lovelies, long time no see! I've been without internet for a wee while but eventually Virgin media have sorted the problem and so I'm playing catch up now. My project today features the lovely Katya from Chocolate Baroque.

To decorate the plastic frame I applied gilding glue and then adding gilding flakes here and there and dusted mica powders over the rest.

I created a background with distress inks (bundled sage, Wilted Violet and Shaded Lilac) and overstamped using the Large Crackle Background stamp using purple chalk ink. I stamped Katya onto white stamping card and coloured her with alcohol markers. I also stamped her onto acetate with versamark and embossed with Gold Embossing Powder. I then cut Katya out and glued her to the background. I then cut her headdress out from the acetate and layered that up with tiny blobs of silicone glue. I added a few little gems here and there.

I then stamped the sentiment (from Artistic Expressions) with purple chalk ink on some gold vellum. I tore the strip out and rolled the edges around a cocktail stick to make a little scroll.

I'm entering this project in the following challenges:

Creative Artiste : Anything Mixed Media
Tuesday Throwdown: Something clear
WOW Embossing powder: Anything goes with embossing powder

Thanks so much for visiting, hope to see you again soon
