Turquoise and Pink at Rainbow Lady's Challenge

Hi there, its a bit of a sad day today as its our very last challenge at Rainbow Lady's Challenge (don't worry though as Cynthia has got something else up her sleeve!!). Our theme this week is 'Turquoise and Pink' in celebration of Bermuda Day!. 

I've used a gorgeous digital paper from Chocolate Baroque designed by the lovely Lesley, and added a bit of turquoise PanPastel before distressing around the edges with a craft knife. I didn't want to cover up the gorgeous cockatoo so I added some crinoline fabric coloured with glimmer mists in turquoise and pink towards the side of the card. The image is a LaBlanche stamp, coloured with PanPastels. I've added some paper flowers from my stash, seam binding, velvet ribbon, lace and faux pearls. The crinoline fabric, lace and seam binding are all from The Funky Junkie boutique, if you've got a minute check out the link in my sidebar as Linda has the most scrumptious goodies :-). 'Age' at Rainbow Lady's Challenge

Hi there, Thursday already, I love these 4 day weeks don't you? Thursday also means its time for an new challenge from our very own Rainbow Lady and this week Cynthia has chosen a theme of 'age' as in decoupage, pyramage, etc. 

I've use a decoupage sheet that i've had for ages. I've made a very quick wedding or anniversary card card, the background was created using a prima mask and distress ink (bundled sage) then spritzed with perfect pearls. To finish off i've added some willow green organza ribbon, faux pearls and a heart charm.

'Memories' at Rainbow Lady's Challenge

For my card I've used bps from Raspberry Road Designs, ribbon and a cute ribbon buckle 'thingy' from my stash. The focal image is a stamp from Joanna Sheens 'Faye Whittaker' stamps, I love these vintage scenes they are gorgeous. I've stamped the image with black archival ink and then watercoloured the image with distress markers. I'm really loving these scrummy new pens!!

On the street where you live......

Hi there, I hope you're having a good week. I'm still off sick with my poorly neck and although its much better I still can't sit and colour with my trusty promarkers. Fortunately I can mess around with paint and ink without it hurting so at least I can craft :-)
Anyway back to business,  we've got a fab new challenge at Rainbow Lady's Challenge blog, the theme is 'On the street where you live' and there is an amazing prize up for grabs from our sponsor Laura at 'Thats Crafty', as our lucky winner will receive some scrummy Dylusions goodies!! Grrrrrr I wish i could enter lol

Anyway back to my project, I'm not sure about the finished product but I had loads of fun making it lol.

When i thought about the street where I live I thought of trees and birds and rain so I wanted to include them in my project

I created a background with lots of different colour distress inks and splashed it with water. The tree was made by adding a little water to some brown acrylic paint and letting it run to make the tree shape, I added some 'blossom' with mica flakes. 

I just drew the houses (after a fashion) and stamped them with text and coloured again with distress inks. 

The bird is a TH die cut, painted with black soot crackle paint, he looked a bit mean so i decided to give him a googly eye to make him look a bit more friendly. I wasn't happy with my watery rain so I added some more using a Crafters Workshop template and magitac paste, once it was tacky I brushed on lots of mica powders. I love the effect, you can see it a bit better in this pic. Much prettier than all the rain and hail we've had lately

To finish off I just added a few doodles with a black pen.

Easter at Rainbow Lady's challenge

Good morning folks, a quick post from me as  I'm not feeling 100% at the min, hopefully a lovely long weekend off work will do the trick and I'll soon feel better. Anyway here's my DT card for the lovely Cynthia's 'Easter' challenge at Rainbow Lady's Challenge Blog. There's a fab prize up for grabs from our generous sponsor Joanna Sheen !

I've used backing paper from Prima (Madeline, I think) and one of the gorgeous new Baroque Egg stamps from Chocolate Baroque. I cut the gatefold shape with nesties (you can see a fab tutorial for this on Glenda Waterworth's blog here). I toned the backing paper down a bit with antique linen distress stain, The main image is stamped with Memento Bamboo leaves and colored with promarkers and coloursoft pencils. The sentiment is from the same set of stamps. The ribbon from Joanna Sheen and the roses from Wild Orchid

Butterflies at Rainbow Lady's Challenge

Hi there, we've got a fab new Butterflies challenge starting today over at Rainbow Lady's Challenge Blog  and our sponsor this week is none other that my lovely teamie Caroline, from CaroLine's  Creative Stamps! 

I've used Caroline's beautiful digi butterflies on my little wallhanging. I crackled the background with copper and black acyric paint and a layer of watered down PVA glue and added copper EP around the edge. I brayered the little scene using Big& Juicy spice inkpad and some of Carolines beautiful rubber stamps, you get so many sillhouettes in this set its hard to choose lol. 

I matted the scene on a lacy die cut circle, added some ribbon and popped the butterflies in position. To finish off I added some black enamel accents to the butterflies bodies.

A colour challenge at Rainbow Lady's Challenge Blog

Hi there,  its time for a new challenge at Rainbow Lady's Challenge Blog and this week our theme is to use 'Red Brown and Cream' although I've cheated a little bit and added some green leaves to my project 

I've used my favourite Poppy paint fusion stamps from Sheena Douglass and some scalloped Decor Plates from CaroLine's Rubber stamps, they are perfect for paint fusion as they are a really good weight and take the layers of paint beautifully.

I began by creating a crackle background with a layer of brown emulsion paint, once that I was dry I slapped on some watered down pva glue and a layer of cream emulsion. Once that was dry I stamped on my poppies and painted them with acrylic paint. Next came the daisies which I painted with grey and cream acrylic paint instead of my usual pale blue and white. I added the centres to the flowers and then decided to add  a few leaves at it looked a little bare. I gave the small scalloped frame (also from CaroLine's) the same background treatment and then dry brushed gold acrylic paint around the edges of the painting. The sentiment is from the new Artistic Expressions themeplate from Chocolate Baroque, stamped with versamark and embossed with gold EP.

St David's Day at Rainbow Lady's Challenge

Hi there, you may  need your sunspecs for this card as its a wee bit bright lol. Our challenge this week at Rainbow Lady's Challenge is 'St David's Day' so we want to see anything to do with Wales, so dragons, leeks, daffodils that kind of thing.  I was a bit stumped for ideas for this one until i came across this cute image which was a LOTV freebie from a magazine, I thought he'd be perfect jumping over those pretty daffodils.

The image is coloured with promarkers and die cut with nesties (eyelet circles0 and matted on a paper doiley. The bp is from K&Co, distressed with my trusty craft knife and Wild Honey distress ink, i've added lace and gingham ribbon and some faux pearls in the corners. The paper flowers are from my stash as is the little butterfly charm.

Dog Biscuit Appreciation Day at Rainbow Lady's Challenge

Hi there folks, I'm feeling very old today, its my son's birthday and he's 22! Eeek how on earth did that happen lol. Anyway back to blogging and my card today which is my DT project for Rainbow Lady's Challenge where the theme is 'dogs' as its Dog Biscuit Appreciation Day. Everyday is dog biscuit appreciation day in our house as our dogs adore dog biscuits lol :-)

I've used a cute stamp (a magazine freebie)  coloured with promarkers. The papers are from GDC Ella Blue, ribbon, buttons and twine all from my stash.

Rainbow Lady's Challenge: Have a heart

Good morning, well its Thursday again so that means the lovely Cynthia has a fab new challenge for us at Rainbow Lady's Challenge Blog and this week our theme is 'Have a heart'. Here's my DT card which uses some of my favourite stamps from Chocolate Baroque and I also bravely cut into a sheet of one of my favourite papers from Glenda, not only did i cut it but I inked and overstamped it too. Oh what a trauma lol.

Once I'd inked and overstamped the bp, I added strips of red pink and black velvet ribbon and some white lace. The gorgeous heart stamp is from Punky Romance by Chocolate Baroque, I stamped it on to vellum and embossed with gold for the wings, grungepaper embossed with red sparkle for the heart and white card then painted with gold acrylic for the cogs. I cut all the elements out and layered them up. The cogs were sooooo fiddly to cut out :-)

Wear Red at Rainbow Lady's Challenge

Good morning, this week over at Rainbow Lady's Challenge blog we are celebrating 'Wear Red' day so our theme is, yep you've guessed it.... wear red! My card was a very quick and easy one, the bp is from Joanna Sheens Dancing With Shadows cd, matted on some black card. I'd forgotten about the gorgeous lacy bps on the cd, but this one was perfect for my elegant lady.

The stamped image was given to me by my lovely friend Tess, she is coloured with promarkers and has a little flowersoft and glamour dust on her furry cuffs. I've added some fancy corners with a Clarity stamp in black and again matted on black card.

To finish off i've added some red organza ribbon and a bow.

For my DT card i've created a brayered scene using my favourite 'Mountain Meadow' Big&Juicy inkpad and stamps from Clarity. I've matted the scene on white card,then black card. The gorgeous tartan backing paper is from Crafty Ann's , the colours are a perfect match for the inkpad and fitted the theme beautifully.

Year of the Dragon at Rainbow Lady's Challenge

Get your sunspecs out as this card is a bit on the bright side lol. Our challenge this week at Rainbow Lady's Challenge is 'Year of the Dragon'. I was tempted to go all oriental for this one but then I decided to use this cute little dragon stamp instead.

The stamp is 'Dragon Luck' by Lisa Victoria from Sweet Pea Stamps. I've coloured him with promarkers and inked around the edges with distress ink. I've used a background made with lime green cosmic shimmer mist, which I brayered (with an old hard rubber brayer not my trusty speedball lol) to create the texture. I've also added a panel of cuttlebugged card again inked with distress inks. To finish off I've added some lime green scrunchy ribbon, a couple of fabric flowers and a button.

Travel in Time with the Rainbow Lady

Hi there,  Rainbow Lady's Challenge this week is 'Travelling in Time' which was a great excuse to use this gorgeous background from Dover, I'd printed it out ages ago but didn't want to cover it up so I came up with the idea of adding some stamping around the edges instead.

I've distressed the edges of the paper with a craft knife and vintage photo and black soot distress inks. I've stamped the cogs from Chocolate Baroque Steampunk Christmas on some vellum using black versafine and then turned it over and stamped and embossed the same stamp with gold EP, the black cogs give a shadowy effect through the vellum. I've added half of a die cut 'weathered clock' embossed with antique gold EP and some black velvet ribbon. To finish off I've added a flower made from card stamped with Stampers Anonymous music stamp and die cut with tattered florals before being inked with a little black soot distress ink. Your choice at Rainbow Lady's Challenge

Hi there, i'm back again with my second card of the day (If Mr Blogger is playing nicely as really i'll be at work with my nose to the grindstone as the saying goes). Over at Rainbow Lady's challenge this week Cynthia has set a nice easy challenge, 'Your choice' so you can play along with whatever you choose. My DT card features a gorgeous digital stamp from Whoopsi Daisy that i was lucky enough to win a couple of weeks ago, isn't she a cutie?

I've coloured the image with promarkers and cut her out with a nestie. The background is glimmer mists on glossy card, it looks quite pink in the pic but its actually a dark red (so much for my photography skills lol). I've added gold mirri card, distressed with a craft knife, paper flowers from Wild Orchid Crafts, ribbon from my stash and faux pearls made with my viva pearl pen.

#184 A white Christmas for Rainbow Lady

Hi there, I'm back with another Christmas card, this one is my DT project for Rainbow Lady's Challenge where Cynthia wants to see projects inspired by the theme White Christmas. 

I've used some of my favourite stamps for this card, they are all from 'Snow is Falling' by Chocolate Baroque. It was a really quick card to make as I've just stamped the image on silk coated card using a big and juicy waterfall inkpad and added some Judikins prisma glitter, matted the image on card brayered with the same ink and then on a layer of white card. The background was made using snowflake stamps from the same themeplate and the same inkpad. I've added some lace, seambinding coloured with waterfall ink and a glittery snowflake made with a Marianne die and attached to the bow with a snowflake brad.

Angels at Rainbow Lady's Challenge

Hello again, my second card of the day and this one is my DT card for Rainbow Lady's Challenge where the theme is Angels. I did make a paper angel but the pics were even more horrible than usual so I made this card instead.

I've used stamps from LaBlanche for this card. I have to thank our very own Rainbow Lady Cynthia for introducing me to La Blanche stamps, i'm totally hooked on them and even found some I'd had years and never inked up. Anyway i soon remedied that and used the gorgeous corner stamp on silk coated card. The main image is another LaBlanche stamp, again on silk card, die cut with nesties eyelet circles and lightly inked around the edges. I've used gold mirri card for matting and layering and added some black and gold ribbon from Crafty Ribbons.

Trees and Baubles and Rainbow Lady's Challenge

Hi there, you may have a feeling of deja vue when you see this post lol, that's because I got totally confused and posted it last week by mistake. Anyway hopefully this time I've got myself organised for Rainbow Lady's challenge this week which is 'Trees and Baubles'

I've used one of my favourite Christmas stamps for this card, I love this quirky Christmas tree from 'Family Christmas' themeplate by Chocolate Baroque. I've painted the image with H2os and die cut it with nesties labels 11 and distressed with bundled sage distress ink. The bp is from the Artylicious cd, Seasons Greeting. This is one of my favourite papers and I didn't want to cover it up too much so I kept the layout pretty simple and just added some green organza ribbon, some die cut leaves and rolled ribbon roses.

#181 Christmas Carols for Rainbow Lady's Challenge

Hi there, oh goodness i've had one of those days today. One of those days where everything seems to go wrong, including posting the wrong card for the lovely Cynthia's challenge over at Rainbow lady's Challenge blog. Anyway, I'll try again and here is my DT Card for this weeks challenge which is all about Christmas Carols,
i've taken inspiration from 'Oh little town of Bethlehem' 

I'm well known for my dreadful photography skills but this one has got to be the worst ever lol. The card is actually pale pink and blue with silver embossing although the colours have all come out rather odd in the card. The stamps are from Chocolate Baroque Harlequin Christmas stamped with versamark and embossed with silver EP on a background I'd brayered with Big & juicy Hydrangea inkpad. The background was made using the same ink, brayered and then over stamped with a snowflake stamp. I then misted it all with pearl glimmer mist. A couple of die cut swirly flourishes and some organza ribbon to finish off.

Thanksgiving at Rainbow Lady's Challenge

Hi there well this week has flown by and its time for a new challenge from the lovely Rainbow Lady and this week Cynthia wants to see Thanksgiving stamps so I took the opportunity to ink up this beautiful little lady from Sweet Pea Stamps, she is called 'Autumn Harvest' by Ching Chou Kuik

I created the background by painting white card with starbust stains (Jazzy Jivin purple, don't you just love the names of the colours lol). I painted with a stiff bristly bursh to leave the mica in lines and create some texture. Once it was dry i stamped the clarity corner stamp and embossed with gold EP and matted the background on some gold mirri card.

The image is coloured with promarkers and she has sparkle EP on her wings. I've used the new Deluxe Crafters Card from Crafty Boots to stamp the image and this stuff is fab-u-lous! I'd been having a problem with flexmarkers bleeding but with this card  the colours blend beautifully but don't seem to bleed, its a great price too. I've layered her up over a couple of Marianne diecuts, covering the join with a ribbon. The sentiment is also from Sweet Pea stamps
