Rainbow Lady's Challenge: Have a heart

Good morning, well its Thursday again so that means the lovely Cynthia has a fab new challenge for us at Rainbow Lady's Challenge Blog and this week our theme is 'Have a heart'. Here's my DT card which uses some of my favourite stamps from Chocolate Baroque and I also bravely cut into a sheet of one of my favourite papers from Glenda, not only did i cut it but I inked and overstamped it too. Oh what a trauma lol.

Once I'd inked and overstamped the bp, I added strips of red pink and black velvet ribbon and some white lace. The gorgeous heart stamp is from Punky Romance by Chocolate Baroque, I stamped it on to vellum and embossed with gold for the wings, grungepaper embossed with red sparkle for the heart and white card then painted with gold acrylic for the cogs. I cut all the elements out and layered them up. The cogs were sooooo fiddly to cut out :-)

I'm entering this card in the following challenges:
Addicted to Stamps: Valentine/Love
Crafty Emma's: Give me wings or sketch
Cupcake craft: pink and red
Hiding in my craftroom: Pink red and white
Shopping our Stash: Hearts, Valentine and'or lace
Top tip Tuesday: Valentine

Thanks for popping by

  2. This is stunning Claire, I love what you've done to the backing paper it looks fab. The cogs may have been fiddly to cut out, but worth it.

  3. What a gorgeous card Clair and congratulations on being able to use the DP. I alway look longingly at DPs and never find courage to 'ruin' them while learning cardmaking. But I suppose I need to take the plunge and start experimenting. You have created an absolutely gorgeous card.

  4. Very effective with the layering of the wings, heart & cogs & the texture of the vellum works beautifully with the lace. The touch of black really adds dimension too.
