Cowgirls Sunday Stampen Challenge - Scallops and Embellies

Its been a very exciting couple of weeks over at Cowgirl's Sunday Stampen Challenge as we've got some new members of the Cowgirl Up Posse and we're now having a weekly challenge. The DT is now in 2 groups and its Rach's posse who are taking this weeks challenge so you won't see my card on the challenge blog this time as I'm in Marions team and our first challenge will be next Sunday. We still get to make a card for the challenge if we want  though and here's  my card for this weeks theme which is 'Scallops and Embellies'

I've used CJ's gorgeous image Maddie, isn't she cute? You can find her here. I just love her little face, she reminds me of my friends little girl who  loved to be out playing and looked just like little Maddie when she was told it was time to come in for a bath lol. Maddie is coloured with promarkers and the edges dusted with vintage photo DI. I have to confess I tried to create a lovely sea/beach background but had a total disaster when my post it mask let the ink through and ruined the image!! Grrrrrrrrrr. I have some Eclipse masking tape somewhere, I think I  need to find it in my messy craft room before I try that one again!!

I've used DPs from a scrapbook kit from Dena's Closet (I think), and distressed the edges. The sentiment has an acetate overlay attached with little eyelet and some velvet ribbon from the same kit..

I've got to admit I struggled a bit with the scallops - i haven't got any of these lovely border punches but fortunately the kit had a scalloped flowery border which I mounted on a layer of pink lace and another layer of wider scalloped lace (coloured with antique linen DI). I also used a scalloped doily sprayed with Vintage pink Glimmer mist. The flowers are made from some handmade paper coloured with vintage pink GM, cut in circles and scrunched up before being layed up. The centres of the flowers are gorgeous sparkly vintage buttons from my stash but they dont show up too well in the photo.

I hope you get chance to join in at Cowgirls Sunday Stampen Challenge, there is a fab prize sponsored by Crafty Ribbons!

I wish I could enter lol, the ribbons look gorgeous!
I am entering this card in the following challenges  though:
A Pocket Full of Posies: One for the Girls
Delightful Sketches: Its all about Summer
By the Cute and Girly: Warm Summer Days

Thanks for calling by, I'm back to work tomorrow after a week off so I'm a bit of a grump today but time is  whizzing by (I must be getting old lol) so hopefully it wont seem long til weeked lol

  4. Claire, you really got it right with Maddie... I can hear her saying no no no I'm not going in the bath.. I've been in the sea already... I'm clean...
I had a little rascal myself at that age... LOL
And then the story of the masking... I'm sorry that happened... I think I have the same mess over here at the dinner table. I clean it every morning but somebody messes it up every day.
    LOL
Great card you made. So into the challenge. Glad you're in the team.
