Inspiration time at We Love 2 Create

Good morning folks, well we're enjoying some lovely late sunshine here so I've made a summery butterfly  for my DT make over at We Love 2 Create where you still have lots of time to enter our 'Anything Creative/Mixed media Goes'. Our lucky winner will receive some lovely goodies from Premium Craft Brands and you don't have to use our products to enter.

I began with an MDF butterfly from Fernli Designs and gave it a coat of gesso mixed with a little permanent Red PanPastel before applying some Ranger Tissue with matte medium. Next I added some stencilling with coarse and fine texture paste. Once that was dry I got busy with my PanPastels again, adding some Fine White Pearl medium to the left hand side. I wanted to give the impression of Autumn coming so I added lots of lovely rich metallic gold and copper to the right hand side.

I stamped the butterfly and dragonflies (from Indigo Blu) onto Clearly for Art white film that I'd coloured with a little Permanent Red PanPastel, Tint and Fine White Pearl medium. I heated the film to curl the wings

I wanted to create a shadow for the words (another Indigo Blu stamp)so I stamped twice with versamark on tissue paper, embossing one with black EP and one with gold. I applied the black layer first with matte gel medium and then the gold layer

I'm entering this project in the following challenges:

Allsorts: Nature
Brown Sugar: Shabby Chic
Creative Knockouts: lots of layers
Inky Chicks: think pink
Simon Says Stamp: anything goes
STAMPlorations: stamp plus your favourite colour combination (pink and gold for me)
Suzy Bee's Blooming challenge: anything goes with a twist of embossing
Sweet Stamps: anything goes

  1. Wonderful texture on this original creation. I didn't know you could use Pan Pastels on plastic (well Clearly for Art)!
