Good morning folks, well i'm having a lovely rest from work this week, there isn't a weed poking its head up in the garden so today is all mine for playing in my craft room! Before I go and get inky though, I'd like to share the first of my samples for the recent SplodgeAway shows on Create and Craft although you may not have seen them as the masks just flew out!! I made an A4 wall hanging using Happy Street Border and Tall Trees Border.
I began by covering a piece of mountboard with a Graphic 45 designer paper and inking the edges with walnut stain DI and my trusty SplodgeAway mat. I cut a piece of grey board a little smaller and covered it with some of Tim's tissue wrap using Maimieri Matte Gel to adhere it to the board. I gave it coat of watered down Maimeri gesso and then once it was dry I began to create my scene using PanPastels and one of the hill masks from Fairy StenSkape.
Next I used the masks to create my scene, I used the Happy Street mask as a template, drawing lightly around it to create the houses, next I added some trees using the Tall Trees mask. I used distress markers to colour the images and created a little village in the woods.
I made the bunting using more Graphic 45 papers, and wrote out the letters, attaching them with some twine.
I'm entering this project in the following challenges:
Daring Cardmakers: lets plant a tree
Eureka stamps: the great outdoors
My Craft Spot: welcome to the neighbourhood
Simon Says Stamp and Show: into the woods
If you've got a minute keep checking out the SplodgeAway blog as Susan is showcasing all the DTs gorgeous samples over the next few days!! Before I go, here's a pic of my two lovely boys relaxing after a long walk. Guess who had to sit on the dog shelf lol??
Thanks for popping by today

Fabby!!! Love the bunting xxx
ReplyDeleteI saw this on the Splodgeaway blog earlier Claire. It's lovely and it reminded me that I need to make a new home card for my daughter. I wouldn't have had the heart to turf those two boys off the sofa either.
