Good morning folks, how's your week going? Well for a nice change this week has gone well so far at work so lets hope it continues. Today's card is my entry for the Spring Blossoms challenge at Indigo Blu Challenge and was inspired by the technique Kay used where you ink your stamp up with both ink and Flitter Glu and one of Kay's cards featured in this months Simply Cards and papercrafts magazine.
I stamped the image (Blazing Poppies from Indigo Blu) with Versafine Deep Lagoon and then with Flitter Glu but only around the fowers before gilding with Winter Dawn gilding flakes. I masked the image and then made a stencil from some card to create the stripes with Ultramarine Blu Tint PanPastel. I then used a cd as a template to cut the aperture and gilded the edges of the panel and the aperture with more Winter Dawn. I coloured the image with Graph'It markers, I thought they would make the versafine ink run but they worked pretty well. Next I coloured some more white card with PanPastel and stamped the sentiment (from Indigo Blu's Music Hall) and then used the gorgeous swirl from that set to stamp around the outer edge where the aperture would go. I embossed the swirls with white EP.
I layered everything up using 3d foam tape and added some dots of pastel blue cosmic shimmer glue to create little 'pearls' around the poppies. I also added a white crinkle ribbon bow topped with a paper rose in a silver bead cap. The crown charm and the butterfly were both painted with white gesso.
I'm also entering this in the following challenges:
