Fancy Folds at Crafty Ann's Challenge Blog

Woo hoo the first day of my Easter hols and a new challenge at Crafty Ann's Challenge Blog too! This time Ann's challenged us to come up with some fancy folds and if you know me you'll know I really struggle with fancy folds of any description. I'm totally useless at measuring and generally being neat and accurate but I really love these little drawer easel cards to I decided to have a go at making one without measuring - look no hands or may be I should say look no rulers lol. I've used one of Crafty Ann's gorgeous mottled stone backing papers (they are really versatile papers, have a peep at them here) and one of Ann's beautiful Morning Glory images (can you believe you get 3 versions of this little beauty for 60p????) You can find it here

I coloured the image with promarkers and decoupaged the flowers to make them pop a little. I then masked around the image and inked lightly with distress inks. I stamped the sentiment (from Chocolate Baroque) in stormy skies DI and added some little gems in the corners.

To make the little drawer easel I started off my making the easel card as normal, cutting it to a 14cm square with my guilllotine. I then cut a  2 14cm strips of white card and scored the depth using the grid on my ruler, and joined them together with pva glue. I made the drawer by drawing round the square easel card and scoring just inside the lines to get the size. I covered all the elements with the mottled stone bp and added a pale blue brad to open the drawer. I die cut a white and mottled stone shape and added some flowers and gems to prop the easel open.

I'm entering this card in the following challenges
Ai Factory: flowers in bloom
Aud Sentiments: Anything goes
C.R.A.F.T: Flowers
I love promarkers: anything goes
Kaboodle Doodles: Spring/Easter
Southern girls: green and blue
Sweet Stamps: Frame it

Thanks so much for visiting today, I'm really looking forward to seeing your 'fancy folds' this week
