Exciting new product from SplodgeAway

Hi there folks, how's your week going? Its still lovely and warm here, perfect weather for my week off work. Did you see the fabby Splodgeaway shows on C&C yesterday?  Tom and Hazel did some stunning demos and they also launched a great new product - Splodge Board, a new substrate that takes all kinds of mediums beautifully. I was lucky enough to be able to make some samples for the show and I decided to make some quick and easy Christmas decorations, this stuff is really sturdy but very light too.

The little gingerbread man was coloured using distress inks, SplodgeBoard takes the ink beautifully. The chimney and grandfather clock were coloured with Graph'It markers, again the markers worked a treat on the shapes. I added some gold to the clock with a gold kryon pen and added some flock and glitter to the snow on the Chimney. I used my cropodile to make some holes for the gold thread and it punched through the Splodge Board really easily.

I'm entering these in the following challenges:
ABC Christmas : Q is for quick
Crimbo Crackers: Its snow business
Jingle Belles: tic tac toe (Glitter/ red or green/Santa)
Simon Says Stamp: anything goes

Thanks for popping by,hope to see you again soon

New Christmas stamps from Chocolate Baroque

Good morning folks, have you made a start on those Christmas projects yet? Glenda has some gorgeous new stamps this month at Chocolate Baroque to help you feel that festive vibe lol. This project features one of the gorgeous images from Gothic Angels, combined with some old favourite stamps from Terrific treescapes and Home Sweet Home.

I began with a little wooden  plaque coated with white gesso, I inked in the sky with distress inks, masking the moon and then splashed some water and swooshed it around a little before blotting to create the clouds. I stamped in the cottage and added some shadows with weathered wood distress ink, added the trees and then drew in the hills with a fineliner pen. The sentiment is stamped with versamark and embossed with WOW gold embossing powder. I stamped the angel on some smooth white card, coloured her with Graph'It markers and added some glitter. I popped her up on some silicone glue to give the impression of the angel watching over the little cottage.

I'm entering this project in the following challenges:
Created with Love: anything goes
Fashionista: Christmas
Happy Campers: use a stamp
Hobby house: Christmas
Make my Monday: anything but a card

Thanks so much for calling by, have a great day and i'll see you soon

Pastel Colours at PanPastel UK

Good morning folks, Sunday morning already - isn't this year whizzing by? The nights are getting dark so much earlier so it won't be long until Autumn is here but we've had a lovely summer and hopefully we'll have a few more weeks of warm weather before we have to think about getting our winter woolies out. We've got a new challenge staring over at PanPastel UK this week and this time our theme is 'Pastel Colours'. You don't have to use Pans to enter but we love it when you do :-). There's a fab PanPastel Starter kit from our lovely sponsor Berni at Your Creativity store up for grabs for our UK winner so don't miss out on a chance to win

I've altered a little wooden box for my DT project, I gave it a coat of Maimeri Gesso and then added some texture with Maimeri Light Modelling Paste applied through a stencil and added some Kroma crackle. Once it was dry I added some colour with Violet Tint and Magenta Tint PanPastels and highlighted with lots of Renaissance Treasure Gold.

I've added a stamped sentiment (using just the word Friends from an Indigo Blu stamp) in an ideology Ornate Plate. The paper flowers are from Wild Orchid Crafts except for the larger roses which I made with my Britannia petal die and coloured with PanPastels. I've added lots of little gems for some sparkly and a die cut butterfly.
Inside the box I've used stamps from Indigo Blu. The background was stamped in versamark and coloured with Pans and the sentiments were embossed with Gold EP

I'm entering this one in the following challenges:

Indigo Blu: Shabby Chic
Jellypark: things with wings
Oldie but goodie: embossing
(my oldie is the ornate plate, I soooo hoard these but had to man up and use one for this project lol)

Sew and Sew at Fashionable Stamping Challenges

Hello my lovelies, hope you're having a good weekend so far. We've got a new challenge over at Fashionable Stamping Challenges and this time around our theme is 'Sew and Sew'. As always there's a fab prize up for grabs from Flonzcraft our generous sponsor so do pop over and check out the challenge blog for more deets, while you're there have a look at all the beautiful inspiration from my teamies.

I've made a little pin cushion, inspired by a gorgeous project in last months Simply Homemade magazine although I didn't have the right bits and bobs so I had to rummage in my stash. I used a moutboard die cut circle for the base and an old CD at the top. Now somewhere in my craftroom I have a load of old cotton reels but  of course I couldn't find them so I decided that I'd use a full reel of cotton then i'll always be able to find it :-) The papers are from Prima 'Believe' paper pad, distressed with tea dye distress ink. For the pin cushion on the top I took an old calico bag (those you get full of leaflets at boring conferences) and stamped 'Leafy Trails' Big Bold Background stamp from Chocolate Baroque with Memento Rich Cocoa ink and coloured with Graph'It Markers, I cut a circle and gathered it over a smaller card circle using running stitches. It was a bit awkward to stuff it so I made a hole in the card and poked the stuffing in with my tweezers before sticking it to the top of the little stand.

i've added some seam binding ribbon and lace from the Ribbon Girl and a button and twine from my stash. I made a couple of tags to pop on a couple of the memo pins, one is a manilla tag stamped with a sewing pattern stamp from Indigo Blu. The front tag uses some of the scraps of paper from the pad, stamped with a stitching stamp from Indigo Blu, the lady is a stamp from Flonzcraft, coloured with Graph'it Markers, her dress is paper pieced using a few more scraps.

I'm entering this project in the following challenges:
Craft Room Challenge: Somethiing new
(new technique to make the pincushion and new papers)
Crafty Catz: real or faux stitching + material
Crafty Creations:shabby Chic
My Craft Spot: 3d items

Its been the first day of my week off work and its been grey and rainy all day but its been a good excuse to have a lazy day. Can you believe I haven't done any crafting?? I know, not like me at all but after being so busy at work and having loads of samples to make my craft room looked like a total bomb site so I've had a bit of a sort out and now I can actually see my desk so I'll be catching up on some crafty fun tomorrow :-)
Thanks so much for popping by and thanks for your lovely comments

Glassy gel gives the best resist ever, its wonderful stuff! Anyway once it was dry I added loads and loads of black gold glimmer mist and wiped if off the glassy gel leaving the clear areas to show the pattern on the tissue paper. It looks gorgeous in real life, but very hard to get a decent pic, here's another but its not great I'm afraid

The sentiment is from Chocolate Baroque, stamped on acetate and embossed with gold EP, I've used glossy accents to stick it to the canvas. Cute and Cuddly at PanPastel UK

Good morning my lovelies and a very warm welcome to my new followers. I can't believe that I've got nearly 400 peeps following my blog, I've got some candy up my sleeve so as soon as I get a min I'll take a pic and post it so keep an eye out. Well the last week has whizzed past and we've got a new challenge at PanPastel UK and this week our theme is 'Cute and Cuddly'. As always our lucky winner will receive a fab PanPastel Starter set from our generous sponsor Berni at Your Creativity Store. Sadly due to increasing postage costs this is only available to those with a UK address but of course there's the honour of the winners badge wherever you live.

I don't really do 'cute and cuddly' that often but I'm totally smitten by the gorgeous bunnies on the Cherry Blossom Lane CD by PolkaDoodles so I printed off this little cutie and coloured him with Graph'It markers. Isn't he adorable?

I masked him with Eclipse masking paper and used PanPastels to create the sea and the night sky, I used Black, Paynes Grey and various shades of blue. I used a pencil eraser to add some highlights here and there.  The moon was made using Maimeri Glassy Gel mixed with glitter, I spread the mixture out on my craft mat with a palette knife and left it to dry. Once it was clear and dry I die cut a circle and stuck it on the card. To finish off I added a red bow and a little boat charm.

Dresses from SplodgeAway

Good morning folks, a quick card today featuring the gorgeous Dressform Mask from SplodgeAway, you can find it here, there are loads of dresses on it :-)

I've used papers from the Prima almanac paper pad for the background and to create the dresses. I've used distress inks through the mask to create the silhouette for the topper  and given her some jewellery too lol. The other dress was cut using the mask as a template and popped up on a little beaded coat hanger from my stash. To finish off I've added seambinding, lace a little black button and some twine.

I'm entering this one in the following challenges:
Get Inky: Ribbons
Inky Chicks: Lovely lace
Unstampabelles: Paper dress

Shiver me Timbers!!

Aye aye me hearties!!! How's your week going?  My card share today is one of my samples for the gorgeous Bonbon Belles CD from PolkaDoodles, this time I've used the gorgeous pirate boy, isn't he adorable? The pics are a bit bleached out for some reason so sorry about that :-)

I'm feeling like a bit of a clever devil as I made the background with elements from the cd, layered em up on the pc and everything!! I know its not rocket science but it is to me lol!

The image is coloured with Graph'It markers, die cut with nesties and I've used distress inks for shading around the edges. No embellies as I didn't want to cover the background up lol

I'm entering this card in the following challenges:
2 Sisters: anything goes
Charisma: Up in the clouds
Digitally Sweet: anything goes
Dilly Beans: cute and creepies
Just Add Ink: just add blokes

Well as usual I'm having a really busy week at work and I'm counting down to the weekend already.
Hope you're having a good week and thanks for stopping by today

Blue Angel from Chocolate Baroque

Good morning my lovelies, have you made a start on those Christmas cards yet? Its August already so before we know it Christmas will be upon us. Never fear though  if you haven't even thought about making a start as Chocolate Baroque have some absolutely fabulous new Christmas stamps to tempt you. You can see them all here

As its been so hot, I went for a cool blue colour palette for this card which uses the Snowflake Shadow Big bold background stamp and one of the beautiful angels from Gothic Angels
I created the background by applying shades of blue distress inks to Southfield pearlescent card, I really love the delicate sparkle of this cardstock for Christmas projects. I stamped the Snowflake Shadow with versamark and embossed with white embossing powder before matting on some dark blue card.

I stamped the angel on some smooth white card with versamark and again embossed with white sparkly embossing powder, die cut with a bauble die and applied distress inks around the edge. I stamped the angel again in Memento tuxedo black and coloured her with Graph'It markers, cut her out and popped her up on the bauble with silicone glue. I really love this angel, she's been a big hit with al the DT, we've nicknamed her the 'Feisty Angel' lol.

I'm entering this card in the following challenges:
ABC: Monochromatic
Christmas cards all year long: fussy and fancy
Crafting for all seasons: christmas
Crafty Boots: die cuts
Crafty Hazelnut: spread a little joy and love
The Hobby House: Christmas

Thanks so much for visiting today, its always lovely to see you :-)

Free Range at SplodgeAway

Hello folks, well we've certainly been having a wonderful summer with lots of sunshine so far. I've take inspiration from all the sunshine for my project for this week's theme at SplodgeAway where the DT are making 'free range' projects. The challenge for me was which mask to choose as there are so many gorgeous masks in the land of SplodgeAway!

Anyway after a lot of dithering around, I decided to use a couple of my old favourite masks, Butterfly Creator and Floral Butterfly Wreath. It was a really quick and easy card to make, I blended hansa yellow, diarylide tint and orange tint over some linen cardstock and them embossed the Floral Butterfly Wreath mask with my GC, I then blended some deeper yellow PanPastels over the top and added lots of tiny pearls to the centre of the flowers and the butterfly bodies. I created the larger butterflies in the same way. The sentment is one of my all time favourites from Chocolate Baroque. To finish off I simply added a seam binding bow and a paper rose.

I'm entering this card in the following challenges:
CRAFT: Monochromatic
Delicious Doodles: anything goes
Pumpkin Spice: sunshine
Seemacrafts: Butterfly
Sweet Pea Stampers: Embossing
Totally gorjuss: anything goes with pearls

Hope you're having a good day, thanks so much for visiting today
