Anything Creative/Mixed Media goes at We Love 2 Create

Good morning my lovelies, how's your weekend going? I'm getting a bit fed up of cold weather and dull days so hopefully Spring won't be too long before it arrives. I bought a few daffodils yesterday and they always cheer me up with their lovely sunny little faces :-)
Anyway today's project is my make for our new challenge over at We Love 2 Create where our theme is 'Anything Creative/Mixed Media Goes' so it's a nice, easy one to join in. Our lucky winner will receive some gorgeous crafty goodies from our sponsors Premium Craft Brands too!

I've made a card using an old favourite stamp from Prima. I coloured the background with pearlescent blue and green panpastels and then stencilled with Maimeri Light Modelling Paste. Once that was dry I highlighted it with pewter PanPastel and splattered over a little black ink here and there. I coloured the image using my PanPastels and Sofft tools and added some details with Lyra Pencils.

I didn't want to add lots of embellies so I just added some black/white layers and stamped the sentiment in the corners.
I'm entering this card in the following challenges:

Brown Sugar: Anything goes
Creates and Makes: anything goes
Creative Fingers: Anything goes
Creative Moments: anything goes
Little Miss Muffet: anything goes

Thanks so much for visiting today, hope to see you again soon

Take time to smell the roses

Good morning folks, my first post of the day and this one is a canvas made using some of the gorgeous stamps from Chocolate Baroque! Our theme this month over on the DT blog is Romance and what could be more romantic than beautiful roses?

Do you ever start a project with one idea and go off on a complete tangent and make something completely different? That's what happened with this canvas as I coloured the gorgeous roses from Rose Stem Script with my pencils planning to make 3 CAS cards but got totally side tracked and ended up making this lol.

I used acrylic paints to create the background, adding some stencilling with texture paste and then created texture around the images to frame them. I used scrunched up tissue paper with matte gel medium and once it was all dry I added silver highlights with gilding wax. I stamped the sentiment on an acrylic tag and embossed with silver embossing powder and added some little roses that I'd made with air dry clay to finish off. I wasn't sure how the tissue would work but it's quite solid once the gel medium is dry.

I'm entering this project in the following challenges:

Artistic Stampers: anything goes
Get Creative: anything goes
Fab'n'Funky: ribbon
Inky Chicks: Anything goes

Thanks so much for visiting today, hope to see you again soon

Anything Goes at Polkadoodles

Good morning folks, I forgot to schedule this post so I'm a day late. I always seem to be late these days, life is just far too hectic isn't it? Today I'm sharing a shabby chic card for our 'Anything Goes' challenge over at Polkadoodles. As always we've got a lovely prize from the Polkadoodles Shop for our lucky winner and there is loads of inspiration from my teamies too. Nikky has launched a super cute new digi collection featuring Helga the adorable hippo too so if you've got a minute pop over and have a peek.

The DT were challenged to use die cuts for this weeks project and with so many gorgeous new dies available from Polkadoodles choosing my dies was the real challenge lol.  I've used papers, stamps and dies from the Belle Papillon Papercrafting Kit and added some flowers from the Bella Fleur Paper craft Kit to make this shabby chic card. I've added lace, ribbon and a little button from my stash.

I'm entering this card in the following challenges:
Brown Sugar: anything goes
Making Memories: Anything goes
Paper Shelter: ribbon and/or lace

Thanks so much for visiting today, hope to see you again soon

Anything Creative/Mixed Media Goes at We Love 2 Create

Good morning folks, how's your weekend going? It's very grey, damp and cold here so apart from dog walking duties, I'll be bunkered up in my craft room playing. My project today is for our 'Anything Creative/Mixed Media Goes' challenge over at We Love 2 Create. You don't have to use our products to play along and we've got some lovely crafty goodies lined up for our lucky winner thanks to the generous people at Premium Craft Brands!!

As I've had some time off work I decided to have a play in my art journal and followed the free lesson from Life Book 2016 'Happy Traveller' from Tam Laporte at Willowing Art. I really enjoyed it, such fun and so relaxing. I'd love to do this years Life Book but with work being so busy I don't think I'd have time. Hopefully things will be better next year and I'll have more time to play. Anyway I won't go into all the details as I just kind of followed Tam's lesson, using lots of different products including of course my beloved PanPastels. I can't add links to the colours I used as I can't remember my log in details to the thumblinky lol so here's a list: Skin: Burnt Sienna Shade, Orange Tint, Burnt Sienna Tint, Permanent Red Tint. Hair: Black Coarse Pearl Medium, White Coarse PEarl Medium, Magenta Extra Dark, Magenta Shade.

I also used Pewter, Violet, Phthalo Blue and Black fine pearl Medium for the background with some stencilling using a Dutch Doobadoo stars stencil.

I also used brushos, acrylic paints and lyra pencils.

I'm entering this project in the following challenges:

Alphabet Challenge: v for violet
Crafty Awesomeness: Anything goes
Creates and Makes: Anything goes
Creative Artiste: Mixed Media
That's Crafty: Anything goes

Thanks so much for visiting today, hope to see you again soon

I love all Nikky's gorgeous collections but I nearly always colour an image for my cards so my something new is using elements from the fabulous new collection Belle Papillon to make this card.
