Hi there, time for a new challenge at Let's Ink It Up and this time we want you to
'Show us your Stitching' Any kind of stitching is fine, real or faux as long as you remember to use a rubber or clear stamp on your project.
Our lucky winner will receive a fab prize from StampingScrapping who are giving the winner a set of stamps for their custom spellbinders dies!! What a great prize!!
I've made a little canvas for my DT project this time around. but i've really struggled to get a decent pic so apols for the dodgy photo lol
I created a crackle background on the canvas and the oval using silver ecogreen paint, PVA glue and a pale lilac acrylic paint and once it was dry distressed with dusty concorde and black soot distress inks. I've added a UTEE border (Cosmic shimmer arctic black) and stamped with a Lost Coast button border stamp, I added purple velvet ribbon, black lace and some lace coloured with dusty concorde distress ink. The stitch stamps are from Chocolate Baroque and the dressmakers dummy stamp is from MME. I stitched a ribbon flower and a skirt using some wide chiffon ribbon from Crafty Ribbons and added a black lace belt I added some more stitching - a black and lilac beaded tassel made using size 11 and size 6 seed beads, it took me ages to stitch it. I used to do a lot of bead stitching but i'm very out of practice lol.
I added a cute little lady mouse from Crafter's companion, she is stamped with black stazon and coloured with inktense pencils. I cut her out and made a cut in the eye of the needle before threading through a little purple embroidery floss. I also used a needle stamp from Crafters Companion to stamp the pins, embossed them in silver and added a faux pearl for the head.
I'm entering this canvas in the following challenges:
Artistic Stamper: Build it up (layers)
Squigglefly: Fabric/Stitching
Simon Says Stamp and Show: Distressing
Sir Stampalot: ladies and fashion
Sweet Stamps: For the ladies
I was really pleased with this project but its very camera shy so once again apols for the awful pic. I hope you're going to join our stitching challenge at Let's Ink It Up, we're really looking forward to seeing all your beautiful creations. My teamies have come up with some gorgeous work for this challenge so if you have time stop by their blogs (links in the sidebar) and check out their work!
