Lots of layers at PanPastel UK

Good morning my lovelies, hope you're having a good weekend. I haven't been around much over the past few days as my internet is really playing up, not sure if its the weather or what but hopefully it will soon be back to normal. Anyway back to the important stuff, we've got a new challenge starting at PanPastel UK and this week our theme is 'Lots of  Layers' . Of course you don't have to use PanPastels but we love it when you do :-) As usual our lucky winner will receive a fab PanPastel starter kit from Berni our lovely sponsor at Your Creativity Store although due to the latest increase in postage, the prize will only be available to UK entrants but of course there's always the honour of the PanPastel winners badge for your blog. Here's my DT project for this weeks challenge:

My lovely friend Shirley made a similar project to this a few weeks ago (have a look here, its fab!) and I just had to have a go at making one, Shirl was inspired by this video tut by the talented Miranda. I've used stamps by Indigo Blu and Chocolate Baroque, all the layers have been coloured with PanPasels (of course lol) in Magenta and Turquoise and distressed with a little black. I overstamped with a gorgeous button card stamp from Indigo Blu and added a little black velvet ribbon belt with a blingy buckle.

I popped my dress form up on a little cake stand thingy from the pack of Wendy Vecci art parts that i've been hoarding for ages, I gave it a coat of Maimeri Gesso, coloured with Pans and stamped with a fabric texture stamp from Indigo blu.. I've added lots of embellies, including paper flower, flowers made with Maimeri Light Modelling Paste and a silicone mould. I've also added a few charms, a butterfly,  a teeny tiny coathanger and a fan. I've also added lace, velvet ribbon and some iridescent bead trim. The sentiment is a stamp from Chocolate Baroque and I've popped it in a little frame from the pound shop. The dinky little cotton reel is from The Funkie Junkie Boutique, wound with some embroidery silk from my cross stitching days.

I'm entering this one in the following challenges:
Crafty Friends: use a charm
Little Red Wagon: No patterned paper
Sparkles Forum: Vintage or steampunk
Sugar Creek Hollow: Mixed media

Thanks for popping by, have a lovely crafty day

Alter it at Fashionable Stamping Challenges

Helllooooo, where on earth did the last two weeks go? They've whizzed by in the blink of an eye so that means its time for our new challenge over at Fashionable Stamping Challenges. This time our theme is 'Alter it' and our lucky winner will receive a $20 voucher from Leo, our lovely sponsor from Flonzcraft. So ink up those stamps and get altering :-), if you need some inspiration pop over to the challenge blog and check out the gorgeous samples from my DT sisters.

If you're anything like me, you'll have a huge heap of 'stuff' in the corner of your craft room waiting to be altered - i'm such a hoarder I don't think i'll get everything altered if i live to be 100 lol. Anyway I had a rummge in my heap of rubbish, i mean stuff and found this old gift box that Santa brought a couple of years ago.

I gave the whole thing a coat of gesso and covered the sides with tissue tape. I used a variety of masks and stencils with Maimeri light modelling paste on the front and on a sheet of card to frame the image. Once it was dry I added colour with PanPastels and Dylusions ink, finishing off with some Renaissance treasure gold.

The focal image is 'Girl with bird on hand' from Flonzcraft, she's coloured with Graph'It and promarkers, the sky and grass were created with PanPastels. I just love this stamp, she's so sweet.

Here's a pic of the sentiment in the corner, stamp from Chocolate Baroque, flowers from Wild Orchid Crafts and butterfly from the Ribbon Girl. The little frame is actually a die cut fob watch with the top bit cut off to make a little circular frame.

To finish off i've added a silky ribbon bow and a paper rose.

I'm entering this project in the following challenges:
Charisma Cardz: no digis allowed
Craft Stamper: paper tearing and stamping
Craft your Passion: children at play
Creatalicious: for the girls
Fab'n'funky: favourite embellishment
(Mine is ribbon but tomorrow it could be butterflies or flowers lol)

Thanks for popping by, have a lovely Sunday

Splodge Away DT Debut!!

Good morning folks, this week I'm making my debut as part of the SplodgeAway Design Team, I can't tell you how much fun I've had playing with some of the most gorgeous masks and of course my trusty Splodge Mat. If you've got a few minutes pop over to the SplodgeAway blog and have a look at all the fab project created by my new teamies!

This card was the result of a 'happy accident' as they say lol. I'd decided to use the beautiful 'Fancier Lattice' mask for the glittered lace technique but it all went horribly wrong! I started with some white card and stuck it to some double sided adhesive sheet, applied my mask and sprinkled on lots of rock candy glitter. All seemed to be going to plan until I removed the mask and instead of a nice bright pink glitter I tipped on a load more rock candy - result a nice white glittery piece of card lol.

Not to be daunted I replaced the mask and grabbed my panpastels and applied Magenta and Magenta Extra dark with a duster brush and voila!! The background was made with one of the Splodge Away Feminine Border masks and more PanPastels. I've edged the layers with some treasure gold and added a big white bow and a gesso'd butterfly (from The Ribbon Girl) and lots of paper flowers from Wild Orchid Crafts.

I'm entering this card in the following challenges:
ABC Challenge: make it sparkle
Allsorts: add some sparkle
Cute Card Thursday: come fly with me
Hybrid Chick: flowers
One Stop Craft: flower power

Well I'd better get organised and go to work, have a good day folks

Maimeri embellishments

Good morning my lovelies, and a big warm welcome to my new followers. One more day at work and the weekend is here yippppeeeee! Before I dash off to work, I wanted to share another sample I created for the 'Sentational Stencilling' shows on Create and Craft featuring the gorgeous new masks by Pronty which i've combined with Maimeri Mediums, PanPastels and Graph'It Markers.

I've used a real assortment of techniques for this little shadow box. The frame was made using light modelling paste applied through a Pronty Mask and coloured with permanent red tint PanPastel. I lined the inside of the box with a scrap of card stamped with a harlequin stamp by Indigo Blue, The lady is one of my favourite stamps from Crafty Individuals, coloured with Graph'It markers and liberally glamour dusted. At the top of the frame I tied a large bow and in the centre I've added a little cameo - I got a few of these from fleabay but they were all black and white so this one got a coat of Maimeri gesso and a dusting of Permanent red tint PanPastel.

The heart embellie was made using Maimeri Iridescent paste and a Chocolate Baroque stamp, I'm going to do a tutorial for this technique on the PanPastel DT blog so once its live i'll add a link.

Here's a pic of the little frame in the bottom right, I got a few of these from the pound shop, its had the Gesso and PanPastel treatment. I popped a little stamped image inside and then added some flowers and beady trim, again liberally gesso'd and glamour dusted

I'm entering this project in the following challenges:
Crafty Creations: pink plus one (black for me, I love pink and black together)
Crafty Individuals: Spring in fashion
Oldie but goodie: make it girly
Simon Says Stamp: anything goes

well work is calling so i'd better scoot off and earn some pennies
have a lovely day and thanks for popping by

Fairyland Money Box

Good morning all, I'm counting down to a nice long weekend off work and hopefully lots of time in my craft room. I certainly won't be venturing far if the weather stays like this. My project today is my entry for the new Lavinia Stamps Challenge and I've made a little mdf money box that I've decorated with Lavinia Stamps and lots of paper flowers. Sorry about the dark pics, its been so grey and dismal here.

Here's a pic of the front, all the images were stamped with black archival ink and coloured with derwent Inktense pencils:

And here's the back and one of the sides:

And the other side of the money box.

I painted the money box with soft cream emulsion paint and then dry brushed green acrylic over the bottom and blue acrylic at the top. The fairies all have a little glamour dust on their wings and I stamped little stars with flitter glu and added some pastel coloured glitter here and there.

The roof of the money box hides the slot to pop the money in, I cut  a rectangle from grungeboard and then attached lots of paper flowers from Wild Orchid Crafts with my hot glue gun (ouch! I always end up with burnt fungers and covered in glue gun cobwebs lol)> Once it was finished I sealed it all with a coat of Maimeri Matte Gel Medium

I'm also entering this project in the following challenges:
Crazy Challenge: Fairies and flowers
Tuesday Throwdown: something dimensional

The edges of the lid were punched with a MS punch. If you pop over to the Chocolate Baroque Design Team Blog, i've posted a template if you'd like to have a go at making one of these covers. If you do make one, please leave me a link to your blog as I'd love to see it :-)

Good morning my lovely friends, Monday already but for a pleasant change I'm not moaning about going to work as I've got the day off ! We seem to be back in the grip of winter, yesterday was freezing cold and we had snow, snow in March, eeeeek thats not good.  My card this morning is my entry for the Easter challenge over at the Gecko Galz yahoo group. I've used a gorgeous vintage image from Gecko Galz (of course lol).

I've created a background with PanPastels and used Maimeri iridsescent paste through a Crafters Workshop template. Once that was dry I added some colour with Graph'It markers. I've layered the image up over a scrap of card embossed with a texture fade and some cheesecloth. I've added blue velvet ribbon, green gingham ribbon and a little heart charm, along with some cream lace from The Ribbon Girls. I've gone a bit OTT with embellies on this card, I've added one of my bargain birds nest from the pound shop (coloured the eggs with markers), flowers from Wild Orchid Crafts,  and some faux pearls too.

My interpretation of the theme was to go for lots of ribbon, lace, pearls and flower but i've used fresh Spring shadesFor my card, i've used a gorgeous backing paper from the Gecko Galz, and added some of the PanPastel tints to change the colour slightly, PanPastels are soooooo handy for this. The focal image is a Stampendous Stamp, I stamped it in black and then layered up the Eiffel tower stamped and embossed in gold. Next i added the flowers, coloured with Graph'It markers. Anything goes at No Matter Which Challenges

Hello blogland buddies, March already ... where does the time go? Its actually starting to feel like Spring is on the way in my little corner of the world, the sun is shining and the crocuses and snowdrops are looking so pretty. Shame the rest of the garden looks so sad but hopefully everything will soon start to grow again. Anyway its time for our March challenge at No Matter Which Challenges, our theme is a nice easy one 'Anything Goes' and this month we are sponsored by the fabulous Kenny K and the DT have all been lucky enough to work with some fun Kenny K images!

I've made a door hanger using a wooden blank which I've painted with black and hot pink acrylic paints, creating a crackle effect with PVA glue. I coloured the image with Graph'It markersand added some lace and ribbon from my stash. The sentiment was computer generated and die cut with nesties. I've added a black seam binding bow, a paper rose from Wild Orchid Crafts and popped a black button at the top. Here's a better pic of the image:

I'm entering this project in the following challenges:

Well as its a lovely sunny day I'm venturing out to a local craft fair and hopefully Mr Blogger will play nicely and post this for me. One stamp, two cards

Good morning, how's your week going? I kind of feel like I'm on the home straight to the weekend as i've got Friday off. I do love long weekends :-) Here are a couple of cards made using the gorgeous new Floral Edges from Chocolate Baroque. When I stamped this card, I though the floral border would make a lovely lacy border so had to have a play and created the second card.

I don't usually do CAS cards but I thought this would make a pretty card without lots of embellies. I stamped the border stamp with memento ink, added the bird (from Curly Birds) and added the sentiment (from Best Relative Ever. I added some colour with Flexmarkers and matted the image on some black card.

I'm entering this card in the following challenges:
Broken Box Stock: happy birthday
Sentimental Sunday: flowers, flowers, flowers
Stamping Sensations: Fur or feathers

I had to try using the floral border as a lacy stamp and I think it looks really pretty. I stamped with versamark on kraft and embossed with white EP. I've added some seam binding ribbon, paper flowers coloured with a mist of diluted vintage photo reinker.

The main image is a Stampsmith stamp, I do love these stamps but hardly ever use them as I really struggle to get a good image, this was about my 20th attempt lol. I've layered it up over a doily and added some vellum leaves and a few little pearls.
I'm entering this card in the following challenges:
LEJ Designs: Lovely lady
Simon Says Stamp and Show: stamp you love but don't use

Thanks for visiting today, and for your lovely comments

Hi there, we've got a new challenge starting at No Matter Which Challenges today and this month we've got a photo to inspire your projects so do pop over to the challenge blog and have a look at the pic, and also check out the gorgeous projects from my lovely teamies too.

We've got a great prize up for grabs, our lucky winner will receive a $10 dollar gift certificate for Sweet Stamps!!

As this year seems to be flying by and before we know it Christmas will be here (eeeeeek) I thought I'd make another Christmas cards and took my inspiration from the gorgeous colours of the photo and the basket weave furniture, a perfect excuse to use my Spellbinders lattice dies.
The backing paper is from one of the GSC Christmas pads from last year. The die cuts were distressed with tattered rose distress ink and sprayed with glimmer mists.

I've used a Molly Bloom stamp for the focal image, she's coloured with promarkers and has some glamour dust on her wings. To finish off I've added lace, blue seam binding ribbon, a little spray of pearls and flowers from Wild Orchid Crafts.

I'm entering this card in the following challenges:
