Tulips from Chocolate Baroque

Good morning folks, today's card features some of the gorgeous new stamps from Chocolate Baroque called  Spring Bird Tulip one of three beautiful DL stamp sheets full of delicate flowers and some adorable birds too.

I've used the tulips on this card, inking up the stamp with Peeled Paint and Worn Lipstick distress ink and stamping directly on to the card blank. I added some little flourishes and also distressed using the same colours of ink.

I used distress markers directly onto the stamp and misted with water to create the focal image which I die cut with a spellbinders die and again added some distress ink. To finish off I added some lace, ribbon, pearls and a seambinding bow topped with a little button and some twine.

I'm entering this card in the following challenges:
Allsorts: flowers and pearls
Artistic Stamper: spring is coming
Card mania: spring
Come and get it: make your own background
Dragonfly Dreams: add some embellishments
Lisa B Designs: spring watercolour
Penny's Paper Crafty: ribbons and bows
The Ribbon Girls: going green

The image is from Sweet Pea Stamps, you can find a full list of the colours I've used over on the challenge blog. I've also used my Graph'Its to colour some clear Doodle Dewdrops - I'm really pleased with them and now I can colour my dewdrops to match my project :-)

Christmas at We Do Doobadoo

Good morning folks, its a horrible rainy morning here today perfect for catching up on some crafting. We're feeling all Christmassy over at We Do Doobadoo this time so pop on over to the challenge blog and check out all the details as there's a fab prize for our lucky winner and loads of inspiration from my teamies too!

I've used a LOTV stamp for my Christmas card, she's been coloured with distress inks and glittered.

I've made the background with PanPastels and the Dutch Doobadoo A5 stars stencil, once I'd added the colour I applied Maimeri Glassy Gel and removed the stencil before sprinkling clear glitter over the top. It does take a while to dry but the glassy gel gives the background loads  of dimension. I've used kraft card to mat and layer the image and the background after distressing the edges and added some pompom trim, seambinding ribbon, a button and some twine. The sentiment is from Whimsy Stamps, I love these postage stamp sentiments and the matching die! I've used some of the fab Dutch Doobadoo Kraft Stars, I've coloured the white side with Hansa Yellow PanPastel and again applied Maimeri Glassy Gel and some glitter.

I'm entering this card in the following challenges:
Crafters Cafe: punches/dies
Eclectic Ellapu: Texture paste/embossing
Left of Center: 3 or more layers
Sisterhood of Crafters: lots of layers
Whimsy Inspiration: anything goes

Thanks so much for visiting today, have a lovely weekend

Guest Designer at Love to Create

Good afternoon folks, its a very exciting day for me today! I'm such a happy bunny to be joining the lovely talented team at Love to Create as Guest Designer! The theme for the challenge is 'flowers and stitching'  and there are two fabulous sponsors A Day for Daisies and Yours and Mine Papercrafts. I was lucky enough to be able to work with one of the gorgeous images from  A Day for Daisies and I chose 'Girl with wind in her hair', isn't she a beauty?

I had a lot of fun colouring the image with my Graph'It markers, I also used my markers to create the background. I don't often use markers for backgrounds but I really like the effect. Once I'd coloured her I had a bit of a panic as I wasn't sure which papers to use but I found these from Lili of the Valley which match perfectly. I've used tea dye distress ink to distress all the edges and kraft card for matting and layering.

I've added some flowers made using more of the papers, die cut with Heartfelt Creations dies, popping some little pearls in the centres. Now on to my stitching, I had some gorgeous tulle trim ages ago but it was really expensive so I decided to have a go and make my own. I got some pretty cream tulle, cut a strip and cut it into a fringe, snipping quite randomly. I stitched along the top and then gathered it up before attaching it to my card. The top was an awful mess but I covered it up with some seam binding ribbon topped with a pretty button and some twine.
To finish off I've added a little butterfly charm that I brushed with gesso and sprinkled with a little glamour dust.

I'm entering this card in the following challenges:
A Creative Romance: a touch of craft
A Day for Daisies: painterly effects
Stamping Sensations: things with wings
That's Crafty: girl power
The Ribbon Girl: add ribbon

Thanks so much for visiting today, hope to see you again soon

Daisy Daisy from Chocolate Baroque

Good morning folks, I think summer is over here and its so much colder and the wind has already started to blow the leaves off the trees. I'm still feeling summery in my craft room though as I've been using the lovely daisy stamp from Honeysuckle Butterfly, one of this month's new releases from Chocolate Baroque.

I began by creating a distress ink background and overstamped with the daisy in versamark and embossed with a white embossing powder. I stamped the focal image with Memento Tuxedo Black ink and coloured with Graph'It markers. I die cut the image, layering it up over a scalloped oval die cut. I added a bow and a paper daisy and a die cut swirl.

I'm entering this card in the following challenges:
Bearly Mine: anything goes
Cards Galore Encore: Anything goes
Left of Centre: inspired by a song (Daisy Daisy)
Open Minded: Last days of summer
Penny's Paper Crafty: anything goes

Well time for me to go to work, don't you just love Mondays??

Good morning folks, I don't know about making cards I think we should be building an arc as it's been raining all week. We're forecast for some better weather over the weekend though so fingers crossed. We've got a new challenge starting at Graph'It Colouring challenge and this time our theme is 'Fancy Frills' so a good excuse to make a pretty girly card to be in with a chance of winning gorgeous Graph'It goodies from Premium Craft Brands I've coloured this beautiful image which I was lucky enough to win a couple of weeks ago, she's from Delicious Doodles and is printed on Ultimate Graphic 160gsm card. Finding the perfect colouring card is a bit of a nightmare but this stuff is by far the best I've tried, love it (you can find it here)

I've used backing paper from Tim Holtz, distressed with a craft knife and a little Walnut Stain distress ink I used red line tape and cosmic shimmer glue to create my ribbon and lace frills and then added some pretty pearly trim to make sure nothing falls off lol.

The image is coloured with my Graph'It markers, you can find a full list of colours over on the Challenge blog. I've also used my White Graph'It shake pen to create the polka dots on her top.

Pretty Shabby at PanPastel Challenge

Good morning folks, well we're forecast lots of rain today so thats enough of an excuse for me  to plan a day in my craft room lol. Before I go and get stamping though, we've got a new challenge over at PanPastel UK and this time our theme is 'Pretty Shabby Chic', there are two weeks to enter and we've got a fab prize of goodies from Your Creativity Store up for grabs to don't miss out on a chance to win!

I had loads of messy fun altering the cover of a Next directory to create an art journal cover. After priming with a coat of Maimeri Gesso  I used  Maimeri Light Modelling Paste through the Fabric  and Mosaic stencils from Dutch Doobadoo for some texture. I added some colour with Turquoise Tint and Magenta Tint PanPastels and used Gold PanPastel for some shimmer. Next came lots of die cuts, again coloured up with PanPastels, I used a touch of Raw Umber to distress things here and there. The die cut flowers were made by using Maimeri Iridescent Paste on fabric, I brushed the paste on and then added a little colour by dusting over with my PanPastels and blending with a brush. I sprinkled on a little clear gitter and left it to dry for a couple of hours before die cutting the flowers and layering them up

The sentiment is a stamp from Chocolate Baroque, stamped over a Crafty Individual stamp that I'd stamped with versamark and gently brushed over with PanPastels.

Here's another view, the butterfly and corner were silver metal that I painted with white gesso and then dabbed with a little treasure gold. I added pink seam binding and some pretty lace from The Ribbon Girl

I'm entering this project in the following challenges:
Altered Eclectics: anything goes
Artistic Stamper: embossing and texture
Bloggers: stencil it
In the pink: anything but a square
Inky Chicks: use butterflies
Left of Centre: ribbon/flowers
Sugar Creek Hollow: make your own background

Glasgow Wedding

Have you seen the new stamps at Chocolate Baroque this month? Oh my goodness they are absolutely gorgeous, there are two new sets of images, Mackintosh Beauty and Mackintosh Windows and some fab sentiments in the most gorgeous fonts too. This is is my first sample using them and I used both Mackintosh Beauty and Mackintosh Windows to make this card (you can find them here)

The image is stamped with Memento Tuxedo black ink and coloured with Graph'It Markers, I've added a little stickles to the centre of the roses and some faux gems in the corners. I've distressed the edges and layered the image up on black card. I added the lovely rose heart from the Mackintosh Beauty set, again coloured with Graph'It Markers.

The background was made with distress inks, I used Spun Sugar, Evergreen bough and a little Iced Spruce. I used tiny amounts of ink on my blending mat and spritzed with lots of water to get a very muted background. Once this ink was dry I overstamped with some of the Mackintosh Windows, stamping very lightly to give a hint of the design here and there. I've gone to town with lots of lace, ribbon, some rolled ribbon roses and some pretty bead string from my stash.

I decorated the inside to match, but kept to a very subtle colour palette, I made this before the new sentiments were released so I may have to make another lol. I really enjoyed making this card as these stamps are so pretty. I even decorated a box to match

I'm entering this card in the following challenges:

A Creative Romance: show us some love
Bearly Mine: vintage romance
Crafting for all Seasons: show us some romance
Get Inky: Valentine/Love
Little Miss Muffet: luuuuuuurve

She's been coloured with Graph'It Markers and I added little pearls to the flower centres with Cosmic Shimmer glue and gave them a sprinkle of glamour dust. I also added some glitter to her wings and dotted some more stickles here and there. After all a fairy has to have plenty of fairy dust lol.

Here's a pic of the finished card, the background was made using Ranger kraft resist paper and acryic paint, once the paint was dry I used a white sharpie pen to add some faux stitching. I've added lace, ribbon and a cute little wooden heart shaped button topped with some twine. The little sentiment is embossed with pretty blue ep.

The flowers are from the Ribbon Girl, I thought they would be perfect with this image, I've also added some tiny cream flowers, a die cut leaf and a metal butterfly that I embossed with shabby blue frantage EP.

I've been so carried away colouring I'd forgotten to blog any of my projects so here's the first one, I love this image although I don't think I could walk in these shoes lol. These days its more like wellies for dog walking ha ha.

Graph'it Markers on C&C

Hi there my lovelies, hope your week has got off to a good start! I just wanted to let you know that the lovely Nikky Hall will be on C&C at 2pm tomorrow, January 7th demonstrating Graph'It markers with lots of tips, techniques and some great bargains so book your place on the sofa!

This card is one of the samples I made for the show. The bp is from the PolkaDoodles CD Angelberry Christmas, I adore polkadots and I printed this paper out on cream card for a more vintage look.

The image is a clear stamp from Katy Sue Designs, the Mabel Lucy Attwell 'Friends' set. I've coloured it up with my Graph'Its, I wanted to create a kind of water colour look so I kept the colouring kind of loose and didn't blend as much as I would normally.  Here's another pic of the image

I've added loads of embellies and die cuts. All the papers are distressed with my craft knife and old paper distress ink. The bunting was made with a Craft Stamper freebie and a Flonzcraft alphabet stamp set.

I'm entering this card in the following challenges:
Allsorts: free and easy
Come and Get It: something new (new stamps)
Crafts 4 Eternity: very vintage
Scribble and Scrap: anything goes
