Chocolate Baroque Colour Challenge

Good morning folks, we've got a gorgeous colour palette to inspire you over at Chocolate Baroque Challenge blog and today I'm sharing the project I've made for inspiration.

The colour swatch is gorgeous and I thought it was a great excuse to use one of the beautiful new stamps from Chocolate Baroque, this lovely lady is called Summer Fair and she's gorgeous some beautiful sisters too , you can get the full set here.

I've used an Oval Basewood Plaque for the base of my project. After a coat of white gesso I created a crackle effect background by applying a coat of red acrylic paint, once that was dry I brushed on PVA glue and then a layer of cream paint. Once that was dry I applied a mixture of Maimeri Iridescent Paste and Gold acrylic paint through a stencil and again left it to dry.

I coloured the focal image with Graph'It markers and cut her out before attaching her to the base. I've added raffia, dried flowers and a gingham bow topped with a paper poppy to finish off

I'm entering this project in the following challenges:

Country View Crafts: Hot summer days
Crafty Awesomeness: Anything goes with a coloured image
Pile it on: Make your own background
Really Reasonable Ribbon: anything but a card with ribbon/trim

Anything Creative/Mixed Media Goes at We Love 2 Create

Good morning my lovelies, how's your weekend going? It's chaos here as usual with our 9 month old puppy Benji causing mayhem and destruction. He likes to help when I'm crafting too and sticks his nose in to whatever I'm making, yellow paint on paws is not a good idea lol. Anyway back to business and this morning I'm sharing a project for our new challenge over at We Love 2 Create where our theme is 'Anything Creative/Mixed Media Goes'. You don't have to use our products to enter and we've got some lovely crafty goodies from Premium Craft Brands waiting for our lucky winner too!

I've altered an MDF Butterfly for this project, I began with a coat of white gesso and then applied Bright Yellow Green PanPastel. I used a Dutch Doobadoo stencil and added versamark with cut'n'dry foam before applying Bright Yellow Green and Yellow Green shade Pans. I cleaned the stencil and popped it back over to  use one of my favourite techniques for the background,.  I reapplied the stencil and them added Maimeri Glassy Gel Medium before removing the stencil and sprinkling over tiny microbeads

The flower and butterfly are both stamps from Stampendous, I used a sparkly EP and coloured with shades of Turquoise PanPAstels, adding little gems to the flower centres and layering them up with 3d foam pads. The sentiment is from Indigo Blu, stamped with Teal Zeal Memento Ink.
I added some gorgeous wired beads that I got in my January Craft Box

I'm entering this project in the following challenges:

Allsorts: Butterflies
Stamps and Stencils: time to take flight

Seashell Collage from Chocolate Baroque.

Good morning my lovelies, the weekend has whizzed by again and Monday is here but before I dash off to work, here's  a card made using one of my old favourite stamp sets, Seashell Collage from Chocolate Baroque. This month the DT are posting Summer themed projects using some of their old favourite stamps so it's well worth checking in to the Chocolate Baroque Blog when you have a minute.

I began by stamping and masking the focal image before creating the sea using a brayer that had been inked and rolled over crumpled paper. I removed the mask, coloured the images with my Graph'it markers and then inked in the sky using a mask. To create the impression of the posts through the water, just extend the colouring a little using slightly softer shades of brown.
I stamped the sentiment using archival ink and added some string and some embellishments that I d stamped and coloured.  The edges were inked with Vintage Photo distress ink and I've popped the topped on a kraft card blank.

I'm entering this card in the following challenges:
Artistic Stamper: anything goes
Creative Artiste: Anything goes
Frilly and Funkie: By the sea
We Love Vintage: Sun/sea/beach
Worldwide Open DT Challenge: anything goes

Thanks so much for visiting today, hope to see you again soon

Floral at Eclectic Ellapu

Good morning folks, can you believe it's the 1st August already? That means it's time for our new challenge over at Eclectic Ellapu and this month the pink team have a theme of 'Floral' so there's lots of scope to play along. My teamies have got loads of inspiration for you so it's well worth a visit to the challenge blog if you have time.

I've used one of the beautiful stamps from Punky Flowers by Chocolate Baroque to make this card. I stamped the image, embossed with silver EP and painted with metallic paints. The background was made on my gelli plate, with a leftover background and a little added stencilling. I saw the lovely Lesley Wharton demonstrate this technique on the Craft Channel a few weeks ago and it's really fun, plus it cleans your gelli plate too so that's a bonus. You leave the paint until it's completely dry and then use parcel tape to life the background from the gelli plate, a genius idea and I love the effect.

I'm entering this card in the following challenges:

Allsorts: A touch of sparkle
Creative Fingers: Anything goes
Creative Knockouts: Anything goes
Get Creative: Lots of blue
Left of Centre: Quirky/weird

Thanks so much for visiting today, hope to see you again soon
