A Day for Daisies

Hello folks, bank holiday Monday and the sun is shining :-) Even better I've got a week off work so I'm one very happy bunny. I'm going to spend the evening catching up on some TV and doing a little blog visiting but first I just wanted to share this easel card made with a gorgeous digi stamp from A Day for Daisies.

The image is coloured with promarkers, the colours have come out a bit weird in the pic for some reason. I've created the shape with a MS punch and used some music score distressed with walnut stain distress ink. The image is layered up over a doiley and I've added some paper flowers made with tattered florals, feathers, little pearl sprays and a die cut sentiment.
Here's another pic of the image, I love this stamp!

I'm entering this card in the following challenges:
Allsorts: Happy Birthday
A Day for Daisies: anything goes
Crafts and Me: lots of layers
Eclectic Ellapu: handmade flowers
I love promarkers: anything goes
Inky chicks: blue and brown
Lady Anne's Challenge: easel cards
Sweet Stampin: doilies and dies

Thanks for popping by and for your kind comments.

Trains, Planes and Automobiles at FSC

Hi there folks and happy Sunday to you. I've had another very quiet blogging week as I can't seem to shake this flu bug off and I've spent the week either at work or asleep. At last though I'm starting to feel a bit more human and actually managed to ink up a stamp yesterday (first time this year!!) so I must be on the mend. Anyway I'm here to share a card made for our new challenge at Fashionable Stamping Challenges where we have a theme of 'Trains, Planes and Automobiles' chosen by my lovely DT sister Yvonne. As usual there's a great prize up for grabs from Cottage Crafts and don't forget we're a rubber stamping challenge so make sure you get inky with us

For my DT project I've used a gorgeous digital background from Dover Publications, I thought it would be just the job for our challegne theme with the gorgeous steam train in the background. This is sooooooo beautiful its almost a shame to cover it up but of course I had to add plenty of stamping.

I began by stamping Creative Expression train tracks on vellum and embossing with Antiquitities EP, adding some black organza ribbon (recycled from a Christmas pressie lol) and a gorgeous steampunk flower created with stamps from Chocolate Baroque's 'Steampunk Christmas'. I stamped a sentiment from 'Artistic Expressions' which reads 'Listen to the whispers of your heart' and embossed with the same EP. The focal image is from Chocolate Baroque 'Steampunk Butterfly' stamp set, stamped on a distress stain background and embossed with the same EP before adding lots of idea-ology cogs and a pen nib. I also added a filigree metal corner from the Funkie Junkie Boutique to the top right of the card. Here's a slightly different angle:

and here's a close up of the butterfly:

I'm  entering this card in the following challenges:
Brown Sugar: butterflies
Craft your Passion: vintage/shabby chic
Frilly and Funkie: Anything goes
Pretty Little Ribbon Shop: flowers and ribbon

Well hopefully Blogger will play nicely and post this while I'm tucked up in bed, we're forecast our first snow of the winter this weekend so I'm hoping our puppy will be able to play in the snow this morning.
Have a lovely Sunday and thanks for popping by

Travel in Time with the Rainbow Lady

Hi there,  Rainbow Lady's Challenge this week is 'Travelling in Time' which was a great excuse to use this gorgeous background from Dover, I'd printed it out ages ago but didn't want to cover it up so I came up with the idea of adding some stamping around the edges instead.

I've distressed the edges of the paper with a craft knife and vintage photo and black soot distress inks. I've stamped the cogs from Chocolate Baroque Steampunk Christmas on some vellum using black versafine and then turned it over and stamped and embossed the same stamp with gold EP, the black cogs give a shadowy effect through the vellum. I've added half of a die cut 'weathered clock' embossed with antique gold EP and some black velvet ribbon. To finish off I've added a flower made from card stamped with Stampers Anonymous music stamp and die cut with tattered florals before being inked with a little black soot distress ink. Here's another pic to show the detail

I'm entering this card in the following challenges:
Crafty Creations:Heat embossing
Incy Wincy: anything goes
Paper Creations Ink: die cuts/punches
Stamp-n-Doodle: Anything goes
Top Tip Tuesday:  Anything goes
Tuesday throwdown: Shiny new year

Thanks for calling by today

Times gone by at Fashionable Stamping Challenges

Hi folks, how's your weekend going? Here's my DT project for Fashionable Stamping Challenges where the theme is 'Times Gone By'. As always we have a wonderful prize from Marina our permanent sponsor from Cottage Crafts

I've taken inspiration from a stunning background, a freebie from Dover Publications which I fell in love with. I loved the wistful look in the lady's eyes and the train speeding away (although i've more or less covered it up on my card lol) made me think of a couple thinking of eachother across the miles.

I've used lots of different stamp for this card, the train track border is from Creative Expressions as are the cogs and sprockets. The silhouette couple stamp is from Joanna Sheen, stamped on acetate and backed with gilding flakes before being framed with a painted nestie die cut. I've added post cards created with Crafty Individuals stamps and a kraft tag stamped with a border stamp.

The black velvet ribbon is from my stash as is the black and gold lace. The flower is stamped on to card coloured with black gold glimmer mist, the stamps are from Chocolate Baroque, Steampunk Christmas. I've added a little metal rose charm from Prima in the centre.

I'm entering this card in the following challenges:
Addicted to stamps: vintage/shabby chic
Die cut dreams: So charming
Fab'n'Funky: trains planes and automobiles
Scrapbook Sisters: anything goes
Wags'n'Whiskers: black plus ribbon or pearls

Thanks for visiting today
