Hearts and Flowers at We do Doobadoo

Good morning folks, I'm chasing my tail again as this week has been so hectic so this post is a bit late but  better late than never I suppose. We've got a new challenge starting at We Do Doobadoo and our theme is 'Hearts and Flowers'. As always there are some gorgeous Dutch Doobadoo goodies for our lucky winner and you don't have to use our products to play along (although we love it when you do).

I've made a little wall hanger for my DT project using lots of Dutch Doobadoo goodies (you can find links at the bottom of this post)

I started off with a wooden heart that I picked up at the Works, its was only £1.99 so it was a bit of a bargain. I painted one half green and the other grey on both sides of the heart and once the paint was dry I set to with my favourite Dutch doobadoo A5 brick stencil and Maimeri Light Modelling Paste, creating a brick effect on half of each side of the heart. On the green areas I stencilled some polka dots using more LMP that i'd coloured with some violet PanPastel. Once it was dry I added some colour to the bricks with various shades of brown PanPastel.

The flowers were all stamped and die cut using Heartfelt Creations stamps/dies. I took some pretty papers from my stash and used the Dutch Doobadoo envelope template to create a little lacy effect envelop and added another layer with the Shape Art template and some lilac gingham paper on which I 'd stamped the words 'happy place' using brilliance ink and a stamp from Chocolate Baroque.

I die cut my name and embossed with purple EP and began assembling the project. I added a postcard created by using a stamp of the same name from Premium Craft Brands and popped the letters in position. I added lots of the delicate Dutch doobadoo laser art fern leaves that i coloured up with PanPastels. The dainty butterflies are also Dutch Doobadoo laser art, they have been embossed with Aqua Sparkle and Sprinkle embossing powder. To finish off I took some lilac ribbon to create a hanging loop and topped that with a seam binding bow using the same ribbon.

I'm feeling quite organised today (for a change lol), I've got the housework done, washing done and drying, a big casserole bubbling away in the slow cooker so I've just go the shopping to do and then the rest of the weekend is my own (hopefully) so with any luck I'll be able to spend the afternoon crafting, yipppeeeeeee!

Romance from We Do Doobadoo

Good morning folks, we're in the mood for love over at We Do Doobadoo as our new challenge theme is Romance so its a great opportunity to get ahead with your Valentine cards/ projects

I've altered an MDF heart using lots of Dutch Doobadoo products (links at the end of this post)

Began with a coat of pale pink acrylic paint and then set to stencilling chicken wire with Maimeri Light Modelling Paste and some flowers  with Maimeri Iridescent paste,

I stamped the image from Flonzcraft on tissue paper and applied with Matte Gel medium.

I added paper flowers, silk flowers and some tattered lace die cuts. To finish off I've added Dutch Doobadoo laser art Ferns, butterflies, buttons and keys.

Romantic Whites from We do Doobadoo

Good morning my lovelies. goodness me my week off work seems to have flown by and I don't seem to have got much done but sometimes thats what time off work is for lol. We've got a new challenge starting today at We Do Doobadoo and for the next two weeks our theme is Romantic Whites. As always there are some gorgeous Dutch Doobadoo goodies up for grabs so I hope you're going to play along. I've made a little wall hanging for my DT project and used lots of Dutch Doobadoo goodies, you can find links to them all at the end of this post.

I began with some recycling some card from Christmas packaging and removed the top layer to show the corrugated side which I dry brushed with maimeri White Gesso. Next I layered up burlap, ribbon roses, lace, seam binding and a white bow to frame the focal image.

The image is from Tiddly Inks, coloured with my Graph'it markers. I love my Graph'Its they blend so beautifully but they also have a fab range of greys that work perfectly with the colours to give you loads more shades, for this image I used pink greys with skin tones for the dress and the warm greys for the suit.

 I added stencilling around the image using the Dutch Doobadoo Brick stencil and Maimeri Light modelling paste.

Next came lots of embellies including Dutch Doobadoo Laser Art Butterflies, button and one of the gorgeous lanters, all were embossed with Shabby White frantage powder. I die cut some hearts from kraft card and added polka dots with a White Graph'It Shake pen. to finish off I added a silver heart charm and some twine.

Get Festive at We Do Doobadoo

Good morning folks, we're getting festive at We Do Doobadoo. I've got to admit I'm not feeling the slightest bit Christmassy yet (are you??) but I did enjoy making these tags. More awful photos again I'm afraid but my new camera is being delivered today so hopefully I'll be able to get some better pics of my projects. If you've got a min pop over and check out my teamies gorgeous projects over at We Do Doobadoo, there's a fabby prize for our lucky winner as always so I hope you're going to play along with us.

I began with a couple of kraft tags that I'd stamped with a music stamps and stencilled with Maimeri Iridescent Medium and the gorgeous Dutch Doobadoo stars stencil. Once that was dry I added some images that I'd stamped with versamark before applying Raw Umber PanPastel. These are some of my oldest stamps but I love them and dust them off every year. I die cut the images and popped them up with 3d foam pads before adding ribbon, die cut holly leaves and some ribbon. To finish off I took some of the dainty little laser cut stars (also from Dutch Doobadoo) and embossed with WOW Gold EP.

Grow with Grace

Hi everyone, hope you're having a good weekend. I'm running late with my DT project for our new challenge at We Do Doobadoo where our theme is 'Enhancing dies'. I've created a die cut flower and enhanced it with some beautiful laser cut Dutch Doobadoo Butteflies coloured with PanPastels. This is also my project for our new challenge at PanPastel UK where our theme is 'Add some bling', of course both challenges have some fabby goodies up for grabs so you won't want to miss out!!

I began with a background I'd made with my gelli plate a few weeks ago.  I mixed some Copper PanPastel with Maimeri Gloss Gel Medium and applied it through my favourite Chicken Wire stencil from Dutch Doobadoo. I blasted it with my heat gun to add more texture and create a bubbled effect and then used the remaining copper gloss gel to colour some Dutch Doobadoo Softboard honeycomb. I added some stamping using background stamps and the 'Grow with Grace' sentiment from the Premium Craft Brands 'Roses' stamp set. 

The flower and leaves were made using Sizzix die cuts coloured with PanPastels. I added some bling with some beads in the centre of the flower and then spritzed the beads with a mixture of Maimeri Gloss Gel Medium and water. I dusted Rich Gold PanPastel over the beads and left it to dry.

Next I added some stampbord squares that I coloured by applying versamark and Copper PanPastel and then stamped with background stamps to remove some of the PanPastel. To finish off I've added some string to the top of the tag.

Halloween at We do doobadoo

Hi there, we've got a new challenge over at We Do Doobadoo and this time our theme is 'Halloween'! I love the colours of halloween and had loads of fun making this tag. The focal image is 'Amelia Witch' and you can find her here in the Polkadoodles Shop.

I've coloured the image with Graph'It marers and fussy cut here. The tag was made from black card, stencilled with the Doobadoo stars stencil and orange/purple and green pearl PanPastels. I added a coat of Maimeri Glassy gel to make the stars pop. Next I cut some shapes with the shape art 3 template and embossed the card before applying more pearl PanPastels.

I've added black pompom trim, purple ribbon and lots of Dutch Doobadoo stars that I coloured with PanPastels and coated with maimeri glassy gel.
