Challenge 19 at Christmas Challenges {with sketches}

Its time for a new challenge at Christmas Challenges {with sketches} and this time around we have a sketch from our lovely teamie Linda,  we also have a twist to our challenge this time, we also want to see you use kraft on your project.

There is a fab prize up for grabs from our generous sponsor Alles om te Scrappen so hop on over to the challenge blog for more details and of course to see Linda's gorgeous sketch!!

For some reason the colours on the pic are nothing like on the card itself (I don't know why i sound so surprised, its probably because it was me using the camera lol). I've used an assortment of papers from my scrapbox, matted on kraft card. The image is one of my favourite stamps from Paper Pretties, he's called Bundled Up Cooper, I've coloured him with promarkers and cut him out with nesties. The sentiment from Whimsy stamps, I adore their postaage stamp sentiments! I stamped with sepia versamark on craft card and die cut with the matching postage stamp die and then stamped it again on a scrap of pale blue card and just used the centre.

I'm entering this one in the following challenges:
Crafty Hazelnut's : Just make it square
Crafty Sentiments: punches or dies
Crimbo Crackers: for a child
Delicious Doodles: Winter wonderland
Die cutting diva's: anything goes
Jelly Park: winter Wonderland

Thanks for calling by today, its freeeeeezing cold here lately so it will be 'Bundled up Claire' this morning to venture out to work. No snow in my neck of the woods yet though although I think we may have some soon. How exciting, snow always brings out the big kid in me lol. Anyway better go but if you have a minute, check out my teamies blogs as they have created some gorgeous cards again this time.

Our first challenge at Christmas Challenges {with sketches}

Woo hoo!!! How exciting, its time for our very first challenge over at Christmas Challenges {with sketches}, we have some amazing sketches lined up for you and the team have also got some unbelievable prizes from our sponsors too! For our very first challenge we have a very generous sponsor....All that Scraps so make sure you join in for your chance to win a $30 gift certificate!!! Now thats what I call an amazing prize :-)

For our first challenge,we have a gorgeous sketch from Janneke, who is the founder of Christmas Challenges {with sketches} and she has certainly come up with a brilliant sketch for our debut challenge.

Here's my card using Janneke's beautiful sketch. I've used a text bp and a stripe bp from Artylicious Season's Greetings cd rom. I've also made two snowflake bps, the one on the left of the pic was made by stamping Tim Holtz snowflake stamps on to white card and embossing with clear EP as a resist. I then sprayed with lots of Cosmic Shimmer spray in Midnight blue. The background on the right was made by stamping the same stamps on dark blue card with versamark and dusting with pearl cosmic shimmer powder.

I've edged all the bps with a little glamour dust for some extra sparkle. The snowflakes and icicles are die cuts made with marianne creatable dies, liberally coated with more crystal glamour dust. The main image is ching chou kuik's Winterberry from Sweet Pea Stamps, she is a real beauty isn't she? I've coloured her with promarkers and added a little silver embossing to the trim on her dress. I use a quicke glue pen to apply the embossing powder as its much finer than my versamark pen. I also embossed the snowflakes and berries on the image with clear sparkle EP and then painted in the background with distress ink in Tumbled Glass. You can see the detail a little better in this pic

To finish off I've added some wide blue and silver ribbon from Crafty Ribbons, some pale blue gems and some clear dew drops. The sentiment is a stamp from Paper Pretties.

I'm entering this card in the following challenges:
Christmas Stamping all Year long: Christmas and vintage
Clear it out: colouring mediums
Crafty Purple Frog: Monochromatic
Going Grey with Scrap Creations: Use at least 3 different bps
Passion for Promarkers: all the 2s (2 hand made bps, 2 printed bps
Phindy's Place: Christmas in May
Stamp Man challenge: Bingo (my line is blue/ribbon/sparkle and bling)

I do hope you're going to play along with our first challenge, you don't want to miss out on our fab prize and of course if you start your Christmas cards now you'll be way ahead by December too.
Pop over to my new teamies blogs if you get a minute, they have created the most gorgeous selection of cards to inspire you

Bundled up Cooper!

Hi again, my second post today, the weather has been so bad its perfect for staying indoors and crafting. A couple of weeks ago i was lucky enough to win this stamp from Paper Pretties, he's called 'Bundled up Cooper and I love him, hes sooooo cute! I've made 2 cards with him today, the first is following this weeks challenge sketch at Paper Pretties

Cooper and the background are coloured with promarkers and some sakura clear stardust for highlights, The bp is from Dovecraft. I added a circle of white card glittered with judkins prisma glitter, some die cut snowflakes (glittered with the same glitter) and some white organza ribbon with a silver edge. The border is vellum, punched with a MS punch and stamped with Tim Holtz snowflakes and white brilliance ink. To finish off I added a couple of snowflake brads and a little bow from narrow white organza ribbon. I'm also entering this one in the following challenges
For Fun: Use Metal (snowflake brads)
If the shoe fits : Feeling blue
The Crafty Pad: At least one circle and 2 ribbons
One Stitch at a time: winter wonderland

I've used my promarkers again for this card and added some pale aqua card punched with a MS punch and some white/silver ribbon. To finish off I added more die cut and glittered snowflakes. I've used this weeks sketch from Card Positioning Systems for the layout. I'm also entering this card in this weeks challenge from Paper Sundaes where the theme is 'Let it Snow'. The sentiment that comes with Cooper was perfect for this theme. I just stamped it on the cardstock, coloured over it with promarkers and added some white dots with a white gel pen. I'm also entering this card in this weeks challenge over at My Partner in Crafting Crime where the theme is 'Marker Madness'

Thanks for calling by, hope you are having a good week and keeping warm. Its freezing here in the UK at the minute so its a good job Cooper is 'Bundled up' today lol
