We love 2 Create Challenge!

Good morning folks, its time for a new challenge at We Love 2 Create and we've got a nice easy theme for you, Anything Creative/Mixed Media Goes! As always our lucky winner will receive a fabby prize from those lovely peeps at Premium Craft Brands

I've made a Christmassy shadow box. I began by creating  a little scene on a stampbord collage using Sheena Douglass stamps. I coloured the scene with my PanPastels and added some sparkle with my Black and White Pearl Mediums. The next bit was the fun bit, what a nighmare trying to get the collage into the canvas lol. Fortunately because the stampbord pieces had a bit of give at the joins I managed to manoevre it into position (after a wee bit of swearing lol)

I painted the edges of the canvas grey and once the paint was dry set to with Maimeri Light Modelling paste my my favourite Dutch Doobadoo a5 Brick stencil. I added some colour with my PanPastels in Burnt Sienna and Raw Umber to create a brick colour.

Next I coloured up lots of sizzix die cuts and then applied Rock Candy Crackle paint over the Pans. As always I was in a bit of a rush so I used my heat gun and ended up with a bit of a bubble effect. I added some buttons to the centre of the poinsettia die cuts to finish off.

I'm entering this project in the following challenges:
ABC Christmas: L is for lyrics
(Santa Claus is coming to town)
Allsorts: use a stamp not a digi
Everybody Art: snowflake in summer
Jingle Belles: no patterned paper
Simply Papercraft: anything goes
That's Crafty: housey housey
Winter Wonderland: anything but a card

Thanks so much for visiting today, hope to see you again soon

Rustic Fragments from Chocolate Baroque

Good morning folks, today's project features Rustic Fragments, one of this month's new releases from Chocolate Baroque, they are really useful stamps like all the others in the range. For this project I've combined them with stamps from the Sewing Multibuy.

I began with a canvas board, primed with gesso before applying texture paste roughly with a palette knife. I let the texture paste set for a few minutes so it wasn't too 'squidgy' before stamping into it with the open weave fragment. Then I left it to dry thoroughly before applying acrylic paint in pinks and creams. Once the paint was dry I added some stamping using the other fabric fragment using potting soil archival ink. Next I highlighted the texture with gold gilding wax.

I stamped some of the sewing themed stamps onto cream card using Potting Soil Archival ink and cut them out. I added a little colour to the lacy border with my Graph'It Markers and then set to with glue and foam pads layering them all up.

I added lace, a flower made from scraps of fabric and tulle and then popped in a tag stamped again with the fabric fragments and overstamped with 'Imagine' from Artistic Expressions. I also stamped 'Enjoy the little things ....' onto some tissue and applied that to the corner of my canvas using matte medium.
To finish off I've added some faux pearls and a little button topped with a twine bow.

I'm entering this project in the following challenges:
Frosted Designs Friday Challenge: felt, fabric, burlap, lace
Paper Shelter: anything but a card
Rhedd's Creative Spirit: anything goes mixed media
Scrappers Delights: anything goes

Anything Creative/Mixed Media goes at We Love 2 Create

Good morning folks, its inspiration time at We love 2 Create as you've still got time to enter our Anything Creative/Mixed media Goes challenge. Not only could you be in with a chance of winning a fabby prize from our generous sponsors Premium Craft Brands but each DT member is also giving away a postcard (pop over and check out everyone's artwork here, OMG I wish I could enter as my teamies have created some stunning projects!). Some of us are also giving away some extra goodies, I've got some Stampbord up for grabs so if you fancy having a play with stampbord, click here, leave a comment and you could be my lucky winner!!

For my DT project this week, I've used a stampbord ATC and a couple of stampbord dominos which i've joined with little metal hinges from my stash to create a little tryptich (never sure how to spell that lol). I got to work with lots of PanPastels, some of the gorgeous Premium Craft Brands Stamps and a versamark inkpad to create lots of depth then used my scratch tools to add highlights. I stamped and embossed the clock faces with gold embossing powder then applied PanPastel White Coarse Medium followed by a thick layer of rock candy crackle paint. I gold embossed around the edges of the stampbord and also embossed the sentiment near the top of the ATC. I gold embossed the frame on some white card coloured with my Pans and cut out the flourish to pop on the top of the center panel. To finish off I added some dots here and there with my Graph'It Gold Shake pen, this stuff is gorgeously glittery but it doesn't show up in the pic.

I'm entering this project in the following challenges:
Altered Eclectics: Anything goes (mixed media)
Let's Craft and create: add some sparkle
Paper Shelter: Anything but a card
Rhedd's Creative Spirit: anything mixed media
Simply Papercraft: anything goes
Stempelsonne: anything goes
Try it on Tuesday: Watches and Clocks
