Blazing Poppies

Good morning my lovelies, I don't know about you but I'm about had it with making Christmas cards lol. I've still got a few to make eeeeek but I couldn't resist having a play with some pretty summery colours for my entry for this months challenge at Indigo Blu where the theme is 'Lest We Forget' so they want to see us use poppies

When I first moved in to this house, the garden was full of the most ginormous weeds and brambles and it took me about two years to turn it into a pretty garden, but scattered through all the weeds were the most gorgeous pale pink poppies that sprung up everywhere. Sadly none of them survived my blitzing of the garden so I decided to try and capture their lovely delicate pink in my card.

I began by stamping Indigo Blu Blazing Poppies with versamark and embossing with white EP, next I stamped the Indigo blu flourish around the edges and again embossed with white EP. Next I blended distress inks in Shabby Shutters, Tumbled Glass and Evergreen Bough all over the cardstock. I lifted the colour from the flowers with water and a paint brush and once it was dry added some colour with Graph'It markers. The sentiment is also from Indigo Blu, again stamped in white and inked with the same colours.

I'm also entering this card in the following challenges:
Allsorts: anything but Christmas
Charisma Cardz: distressed
Crafts Too: natural world plus add a flower
Crafty Creations: anything except Christmas

Thanks for popping by today, hope to see you again soon
Claire xx
