Rainbow Lady says 'Tie a Yellow Ribbon'

Wow this week is whizzing by, in fact I seem to have blinked and missed most of March lol. Anyway as its Thursday already its time for a new challenge at Rainbow Lady's Challenge Blog and this week Cynthia has set a really fun theme: Tie a Yellow Ribbon!
We have another generous sponsor this week our lucky winner will receive a prize from the fab Steph from http://www.crafting.co.uk/

Here's my DT Card, don't faint .. I haven't used a stamp anywhere on this card (don't worry I'm not ill as I did manage to get inky making it lol)

My inspiration for this card came from the lovely ribbon which is from Crafty Ribbons, I thought it would be just the job for a blokey vintage card. One of our friend's was celebrating his 50th birthday and as he is a real cricket fan I had a look through my crafting cds and found this image and backing paper on Joanna Sheen's Victorian Companion cd. The bp is distressed with vintage photo distress ink and matted on some gold hammered card. The sentiment is computer generated and after I'd distressed the background I mounted it behind some acetate and pocket watch die cut from Tattered Angels which I embossed with antiquities EP,
I did try to tie the ribbon like a man's tie but I made such a horrible job of it I gave up and tied it in a bow instead lol.

I'm entering this card in the following challenges:
Ambers Crafts n stuff: Use a die cut
Crafty Cardmakers: Special birthdays
Incy Wincy: embossing
One Stitch at a Time: Something for the boys
Paper Sundaes: Embossing
The Sisterhood of Crafters: Lets hear it for the boys

Thanks for calling by, check out my fab teamies lovely blogs for some more ideas but be warned you'll be singing 'Tie a yellow ribbon ......." for the rest of the day lol

  13. I could only have tied it like a tie if I'd put it round my neck & done it but that would have required an awful lot of ribbon!!! Anyway it looks fab as is & that's a great card for a guy. Love the sentiment too! Thanks for playing along at the Sisterhood of Crafters x

  23. Hi, Claire! This card is just full of charm even with it's masculine overtones. I love the ribbon and I think it's just fine to include a bow on a man's card if the ribbon is appropriate to the male gender. Great job! Thanks for playing with us this week at Amber's Crafts and Stuff. I hope you'll join us again very soon.
