Barney and the Oriental Crane from Chocolate Baroque

Good morning, the weather's been dreadful here for the last few days, I think I'll have webbed feet before long at this rate lol. My card today features some of the new clear stamps from Chocolate Baroque.

The background was created with distress inks (Tumbled Class, Peeled Paint and Tea Dye), blended on to Southfield White card and then splashed with water to give a mottled effect. I over stamped the background with dragonflies and bamboo stamps from 'Moonlit Waterfall'.

I stamped the scene using stamps from Oriental Crane with versafine ink and coloured with distress markers. I used some black card for matting and layering and added an oriental coin charm attached with some shimmery braid.

I'm entering this card in the following challenges:
2 Sisters: things with wings
Art with no boundaries: Anything goes plus Asian inspired
Artistic Stamper: Splatters and speckles
Charisma Cardz: things with wings
Crafting for all seasons: things with wings
Heck of a challenge: anything goes
Sweet Stampin:  How Charming

Before I dash off to work here are a couple of pics of our lovely puppy Barney, he's growing at a rate of knots and is full of love (and mischief lol). Here he is with his big brother and best friend Benji

Barney still hasn't worked out how to get down stairs and has a habit of rushing up stairs and then crying to be carried down, one of David's friends took this pic the other day. Look at those scary eyes, I think Barney is getting ready for Halloween lol.

Right, better get myself off to work, have a good day and thanks for popping by

  1. Totally agree with you on the weather Claire, the rain seemed never ending this year.

I've had my eye on these new stamps for a few days I think your lovely card has confirmed that I definitely 'need'them.

Barney looks like he's going to be a real bundle of fun.

  4. A gorgeous card Claire, I loved these stamps when they were launched and this is one of the sets that I bought. The background that you've created is beautiful and looks as though it could have been a card on it's own.

A lovely photo of Barney and Benji, and a really spooky one of Barney at the top of the stairs, his eyes look as though they're glowing.

  5. The coin charm with the shimmery braid looks brilliant, especially with your speckled background & the pop of blue in the water around the crane's legs. Barney does look as if he's quite mischievous & definitely in a bit of a quandary at the top of those stairs.
