A colour challenge at Rainbow Lady's Challenge Blog

Hi there,  its time for a new challenge at Rainbow Lady's Challenge Blog and this week our theme is to use 'Red Brown and Cream' although I've cheated a little bit and added some green leaves to my project 

I've used my favourite Poppy paint fusion stamps from Sheena Douglass and some scalloped Decor Plates from CaroLine's Rubber stamps, they are perfect for paint fusion as they are a really good weight and take the layers of paint beautifully.

I began by creating a crackle background with a layer of brown emulsion paint, once that I was dry I slapped on some watered down pva glue and a layer of cream emulsion. Once that was dry I stamped on my poppies and painted them with acrylic paint. Next came the daisies which I painted with grey and cream acrylic paint instead of my usual pale blue and white. I added the centres to the flowers and then decided to add  a few leaves at it looked a little bare. I gave the small scalloped frame (also from CaroLine's) the same background treatment and then dry brushed gold acrylic paint around the edges of the painting. The sentiment is from the new Artistic Expressions themeplate from Chocolate Baroque, stamped with versamark and embossed with gold EP.

Cameo from Scrapbook Stamp Society

Hi there, my card share today features one of the gorgeous digistamps from Scrapbook Stamp Society, this elegant lady is Cameo 7 by Morgan Fitzsimons. She's got such a lovely wistful expression on her face hasn't she?

I've used K&Co backing paper and ribbon and lace from my stash. The lady is coloured with promarkers and has a little glamour dust for some bling. I've matted the image and bps on white card distressed with a craft knife and tea dye distress ink. I've added lots of flowers and a spray of little pearls with faux pearls in the corners.

Use a stamped image at PanPastel UK

Good morning, we've got a new challenge today at PanPastel UK and our theme is 'Use a stamped image'. I've treated myself to a few new colours and couldn't resist using Violet and Magenta panpastels for this card. You don't have to used PanPastels to join in our challenge, although of course we love it when you do.

I've used shaped card blanks to create this easel card. I simply blended Magenta and Violet Pan Pastels, adding a little white to create the background and stamped the swirly flourishes from Chocolate Baroque's butterfly bliss stamp sheet in black archival ink. The ginormous butterfly is from the samp stamp sheet, I stamped it with versamark and embossed with clear sparkle EP and then coloured with Pan Pastels, adding some paynes grey for some shading. I added some white highlights with a gel pen and cut the butterfly out. I popped the wings up with some silicone glue. The sentiment is also from the same stamp sheet, stamped with versamagic ink in Eggplant and cut with nesties labels 4, I used the PanPastel left on my sofft applicator to add a little colour around the edges and then added a little purple bow.

Garden Patch challenge at Scrapbook Stamp Society

Hi there folks, I'm running late with this post, I've just had one of those days so i'll keep it quick and go and put my feet up with a glass of falling down water lol. There's a brand new challenge at Scrapbook Stamp Society Challenge at the theme is 'Garden Patch'. I've used this gorgeous image called 'Elf Flower' by Mogan Fitzsimons for my project.

I'd been playing around making tissue paper flowers so i decided to make a little wall hanging for my DT project. I used a Decorplate from Caroline's and gave it a crackle background with emulsion paint and pva glue. I'd already coloured the image with promarkers and decoupaged it so that the gorgeous elf is peeping out from the floral frame. I attached it to the decorplate and added my flowers around the edge, unfortunately i ran out of glue so i'll have to have a trip to the shop in the morning. Eeek how on earth did I run out of glue?? I bet i'll find loads when  I've bought some lol.

The flowers were made using white tissue paper (I always save tissue paper from packaging) die cut with tattered florals die and then coloured with glimmer mists. I scrunched them while wet and left them to dry before layering them up with a dot of glue, more glue in the centres to add assorted colours of seed beads.

Anything but a card at Crafty Ann's

Hi there, well its Friday again thank goodness and time for a new challenge over at Crafty Ann's where our theme this time around is 'Anything but a card'. I love to make jewellery so this was a perfect chance! My super talented teamies have come up with some stunning project so make sure you check them out. Don't forget that our lucky winner will receive a generous prize from Crafty Ann's Digi Shop too.

I've created a pendant using Crafty Ann's beautiful Champagne flower from the Cream Dream collection. It was really quick and easy to make, I attached the glass cabochon with glossy accents and trimmed to size once it was dry before attaching a glue on bale with more glossy accents. I've added some gold organza ribbon  instead of a chain as I thought it would complement the delicate flower nicely.

To make the gift box, i used a fab freebie template from Craft Stamper magazine, printed onto card and painted with gold acrylic paint. I then printed out one of the papers from Crafty Ann's 'Cream Dream' collection and used the template to cut out panels to cover the box. I added some gold dew drops as feet for the box and another of the Champagne flower on top. The box opens with a little ribbon tab. The colours on this pic are appalling - for some reason everything has a blue tinge and the ribbon tag looks white when its more or less the same colour as the ribbon on the pendant, i really must learn how to use my camera lol.

Birthday Celebrations at Sarah Hurley's Challenge

Hi there, i'm back again with my second post today, this time around I want to share my project for the new challenge over at Sarah Hurley's Challenge blog where our theme is 'Birthday Celebrations'.

I knew straightaway which of Sarah's fab cds i wanted to use, of course it had to be the brand new Steampunk cd! (You can find Sarah's Steampunk cd and lots of other fabby goodies here) I haven't had much chance to play with it yet as i've been so busy at work and we've had some poorlies in the family so its was great to find some time to have a browse and print off lots of gorgeous papers and bits and bobs from the cd. The backing papers, journalling cards and sentiment are all from the cd, aren't the colours scrummy?? I've used some of the paper to make the flowers using spellbinders dies. I also used a die cut dress form and made a little dress from a scrap of fabric coloured with distress stains, some seambinding ribbon and one of my hoarded crystal buckles. I added a few tiny faux gems to create a necklace. To finish off i've added a screw top brad, some more seam binding, vellum punched leaves and a recycled doiley cut in half and sprayed with perfect pearls spray.

St David's Day at Rainbow Lady's Challenge

Hi there, you may  need your sunspecs for this card as its a wee bit bright lol. Our challenge this week at Rainbow Lady's Challenge is 'St David's Day' so we want to see anything to do with Wales, so dragons, leeks, daffodils that kind of thing.  I was a bit stumped for ideas for this one until i came across this cute image which was a LOTV freebie from a magazine, I thought he'd be perfect jumping over those pretty daffodils.

The image is coloured with promarkers and die cut with nesties (eyelet circles0 and matted on a paper doiley. The bp is from K&Co, distressed with my trusty craft knife and Wild Honey distress ink, i've added lace and gingham ribbon and some faux pearls in the corners. The paper flowers are from my stash as is the little butterfly charm.

In England's green and pleasant land

Hi there, this is one of my DT project for Chocolate Baroque featuring some of their gorgeous new stamps (Artistic Expressions from Chocolate Baroque and Britannia from Crafty individuals). As soon as I saw the sentiment 'In Englands's green and pleasant land I thought of the gorgeous stamps from Home Sweet Home stampsheet and wanted to combine them to create a little wall hanging

I used the reverse of a 5x7 canvas and cut out some card to cover the frame, I gave it a crackle background with a layer of green emulsion, then watered down PVA glue and a top coat of cream. Once it was dry I stamped the gorgeous swirls from Artistic Expressions with versamark and embossed with a pale green embossing powder. I used the same EP for the Britannia image on cream card, cut it out and popped it up with silicone glue.

Creating the little scene was easy, I just cut some card to fit the aperture of the frame, stamped the images with Memento Tuxedo black and coloured with promarkers. I made the flowers using Crinoline fabric, die cut with Crealies dies and coloured with glimmer mists. The fabric scrunches beautifully. The leaves are also die cut with Crealies, this time embossed with pale green embossing powder.

Challenge 21 at Christmas Challenges {with sketches}

Hi there folks, time to start thinking about Christmas lol. Joking aside its never to early to get cracking on those Christmas cards and this week at Christmas Challenges {with sketches} we have a gorgeous sketch from my lovely teamie Marion. We've also got a twist to our latest challenge, 'Baby its cold outside' so we want to see you winter themed cards along with Marion's fab sketch!

For my DT card i've used a freebie stamp from a magazine, coloured with promarkers and matted on kraft card. I got a bit carried away with my white cosmic shimmer glue and glamour dust and made a bit of a snowstorm. The gingham backing papers are some of my favourites, they are from a cd (another magazine freebie). The main bp is from Polkadoodles, distressed with a craft knife. to finish off I've added some raffia lace, red organza ribbon, a little bell and some die cut snowflakes.

Use Ribbon at PanPastel UK

Hi again, my second post today and this morning card is my DT project for PanPastel UK where our theme is 'Use Ribbon', I think we all love to add some ribbon to our projects so it should be a nice easy one this week. My card is very camera shy, which is a shame as I love this technique!!

Its a very quick and easy background made by applying white PanPastel to white card and then blending in Ultramarine Blue PanPastel with a large Sofft sponge. I used stamps from Chocolate Baroque 'Texture  Fragments', stamped with versamark and embossed with clear sparkle embossing powder.  I then added a little more blue PanPastel over the embossing, you'd think it would create a resist but it doesn't, the embossed images seem to initensify when you apply the PanPastel and the contrast between the velvety matt PP and the sparkly EP is so pretty. You can see it a little better in this pic

I loved the background so much I didn't want to cover it up lol so I just added some lace from my stash and coloured some seam binding with Ultramarine blue PanPastel . I used a gorgeous postage sentiment from Whimsy Stamps, I love these as they have a coordinating die to cut them out and they are soooooo cute! To finish off i've added some sparkly pins from Crafty Boots and some little AB gem flowers to pick out the flowers in the background. I'm entering this card in the following challenges:

For a child at Fashionable Stamping Challenges

Hi there, our challenge this time at Fashionable Stamping Challenges is to make a project for a child. I've made a little baby card for my DT project. I usually make large cards but i'm really enjoying making little easel cards with my nesties.  The main image is a stamp from Joanna Sheen that I've had for years, I stamped it on watercolour card and painted with distress inks before cutting out with a nestie, leaving the baby girls nightgown trailing out of the die cut shape. I added a little glamour dust for some sparkle on her nightie

I die cut 2 shapes from some whitewash coredinations card with a larger nestie and sanded around the die. I used the larger die to create the easel card base too, using cream card edged with pumice stone distress ink. To finish the card off I added some faux pearls, a little babies feet charm, seambinding ribbon, a pink rose and a little fabric teddy from my stash. The sentiment is a little sticker i've had for years but I thought it would be perfect.

Dog Biscuit Appreciation Day at Rainbow Lady's Challenge

Hi there folks, I'm feeling very old today, its my son's birthday and he's 22! Eeek how on earth did that happen lol. Anyway back to blogging and my card today which is my DT project for Rainbow Lady's Challenge where the theme is 'dogs' as its Dog Biscuit Appreciation Day. Everyday is dog biscuit appreciation day in our house as our dogs adore dog biscuits lol :-)

I've used a cute stamp (a magazine freebie)  coloured with promarkers. The papers are from GDC Ella Blue, ribbon, buttons and twine all from my stash.

Keep Calm and Carry On, new stamps at Chocolate Baroque

Hi there folks, my card share today features some of the  gorgeous new stamps from Chocolate Baroque:  Artistic Expressions  which i've combined with some of the new Crafty Individuals stamps. 

The backing paper is from the neutrals collection from Decadent Brocade cd, overstamped with the swirl from Artistic Expressions and embossed with beige embossing powder. The Crafty individuals Union Jack and the sentiment are stamped on printable canvas coloured with antique linen distress stain.  I was really pleased to find a use for this as I bought it ages ago and my printer just spits it out lol. I've used the wings and crown from the heart stamp on Artistic expressions,stamping the wings on vellum and the crown on beige and black card for a bit of contrast. 

I've matted the sentiment on Shapeabilities Fancy Tags 2 and attached it with some seam binding ribbon. I've added lots of faux pearls and a few gems to finish off.

Lady in hat from Scrapbook Stamp Society

Hi there, todays card share features a gorgeous image from Scrapbook Stamp Society called '1920's Hat 2' by Morgan Fitzsimons. She's got a really wistful look on her face hasn't she?

I've coloured the image with promarkers and cut her out with nesties before inking around the edge with Tumbled glass distress ink. She's matted on a faux nestie. The papers are Prima Madeline as are the paper flowers which i've topped with roses from my stash. I've added brown and pink ribbons and some cream broderie anglais lace. The gorgeous little sparkly pins are from Crafty Boots and the faux pearls were made with a viva pearl pen

Animals at PanPastel Uk Challenge

Hi there, how's your weekend going? Mine is very lazy so far after another hectic week at work but its time to stop lazing around and tell you about this weeks challenge at PanPastel UK where our theme is Animals. 

I created the scene by applying white PanPastel over my card and then masking a sun. I added the sky with Ultramarine blue PanPastel and then used torn paper to mask the hills and added the background using Permanent green PanPastel. I added the sun  using Dairyalide yellow and Red iron oxide PanPastels. I used tree stamps from Chocolate Baroque, stamping them in Memento Rich Cocoa ink and then stamped the leaves using Bamboo leaves and New Sprout memento inks. Once i'd stamped in the trees I added a little more green PanPastel for some shade. PanPastels blend so beautifully it only takes a couple of minutes to create a background, I love em!! 

I don't have many animal stamps at all so I've used a digi stamp called 'Mother Deer and fawn'that I was lucky enough to win a few weeks ago. I've coloured the image with promarkers and cut it out before attaching it to my PanPastel scene with 3d foam pads. The sentiment is a stamp from Whimsy stamps. I didn't want to add lots of embellies so I just matted and layered the scene on white card and then dark green card.

It looks a bit like a spring morning, and hopefully spring isn't too far away now. I noticed that the tree outside my craftroom window is covered with little buds so hopefully we won't have long to wait for some better weather.
