Having a laugh at Digi's With Attitude!

Time for  a new challenge over at Digi's With Attitude! and our theme for challenge #25 is 'Funny Sentiments' so come on make us laugh with a funny sentiment this week. There's a little story behind my DT project this week, my house is always full of my sons friends and as his bedroom is next to the bathroom I get fed up of them knocking at the door to use the toilet when I'm in the bath .... so I decided to make a door hanger to let them know lol. I also thought this little cute "Bubblebath Tween" image would attract their attention LOL. You can find her here in the Digi's With Attitude! Store.

The bps are from GCD Rose coloured glasses, the image is coloured with promarkers and cut out with a nestie and inked with Victorian Velvet Distress ink. I added glossy accents to the bubbles, microbeads and icicle stickles to add abit more 'bubblebath' and some clear dew drops attached with more stickles. The roses, lace and seam binding ribbon are from my stash. The sentiment is computer generated, I hope you like it, it makes me giggle lol. You can see the detail a bit better in this pic

Happy Birthday at Crafty Ann's

Well weekend is nearly here, I do love these short weeks at work don't you? Its time for a new challenge from Crafty Ann's Challenge blog and this time we have a nice easy one for you... 'Happy Birthday', as always our lucky winner will receive a fab prize from Crafty Ann's Digi Store!

For my DT card this time I've used this superfun image called 'Fit as a fiddle' and a gorgeous tartan bp from Crafty Ann's. I fell in love with this image as soon as I saw it, its so quirky and it comes with 3 fun sentiments too, they are perfect with the image and I've used "Kick up your heels... its your birthday' for my card.

The image is coloured with promarkers and cut out with nestie labels 4. I've used some green card from my stash for matting and layering, some brass buttons and also some gorgeous tartan ribbon from Crafty Ribbons. I've added a homemade bottlecap embellie as the card looked a bit plain. I've crushed the bottlecap with my cuttlebug and coloured the inside with alcohol inks and added microbeads and  crackle accents. The edge of the bottlecap is coloured with a gold krylon pen.

Rainbow Lady's 'Lady in Red' challenge

Hello there, its time for another challenge from our lovely Rainbow Lady  and this week Cynthia's theme is 'Lady in Red'. We also have  fab prize from our regular sponsor Joanna Sheen too so don't miss out :-)

For my card I've used a bp and one of the bookmarks from Artylicious 'Essence of Nature' cd. The blue bp and bookmark were distressed wth fired brick DI and edged with a gold krylon pen. I added some cuttlebugged red card and a couple of grungepaper roses (coloured with the same distress ink and some red stickles highlights).

The main image is a gorgeou stamp from Crafts and Me called 'Hiding' by Molly Harrison, the image is coloured with inktense pencils. To finish off I've added some royal blue seam binding ribbon and a couple of dew drops coloured with alcohol ink.

Celebrating Mothers Day at Michelle Perkett Studio

Hi there, we have a new challenge starting at Michelle Perkett Studio and this week we are celebrating Mothers Day,  we've already had our Mothers Day  in the UK but our friends in the rest of the world will be celebrating soon. I've used one of my all time favourite images from Michelle's Etsy store for this card, Enchanted Slumber is such a gorgeous image I thought it would be perfect to celebrate Mothers Day

The image is coloured with promarkers and has some glittery highlights on the wings and flowers  but that hasn't shown too well in the photo. I've used a heart shaped doiley from my stash and added some paper flowers, cricut flourishes and some faux pearls. The bp is from the 'Love Letter's' collection (from Crafty Emma's). To finish off I've added some organza ribbon and a crystal buckle.

A new Christmas challenge starting soon...

Hello, it might be May day but I'm getting ahead with another Christmas card, this one is for a new challenge blog starting soon. Christmas Challenges {with sketches} is a fortnightly challenge blog starting with the first challenge on June 1st.  One of my dear blogland buddies Marion and some of her friends are starting the challenge up and they are having a DT call so I thought I'd try out :-)

Of course the DT call is a sketch challenge, I love sketches and really enjoyed making this card. I've used some lovely green and cream papers from Dovecraft's Noel bp pad, all the bps have been distressed with a craft knife, gold UTEE and some rather untidy hand stitching with silky embroidery floss.

The main image is one of my favourite Christmas stamps 'Lizzie with Muff' from Whiff of Joy, she's been stamped and coloured with promarkers and a little green glitter on her dress.  I created a border with some Christmas tapestry stamps and distressed with Shabby Shutters DI. I've added some green and cream tartan ribbon some gold wired netting (actually a Christmas decoration, a huge roll for £1 from the local pound shop. I've added some paper flowers - cream gardenia petals with a gold bead cap and gold dew drops, cream and gold cherry blossoms, gold and ivory rosebuds - they are all sprayed lightly with golden dubloons Moonshadow ink but it doesn't show up too well in the pic. Here's another photo to show the detail a little more.

I made some little holly berried by wiring some garnet miyuki drop beads and added some die cut fir branches. To finish off I added some more pale gold dew drops, I just found that these look amazing if you stick them on with stickles .... loads of sparkle!!

Spring at Michelle Perkett Studio

Hi there, weekend is here again although with all these bank holidays I'm totally confused and keep forgetting what day it is lol. Did you watch the Royal Wedding yesterday? I didn't intend to spend all day glued to the TV but I got totally hooked and couldn't switch off, everything was just so perfect and William and Kate looked so happy. Anyway back to crafting today and today's card features one of the beautiful new images from Michelle Perkett Studio ... Spring is available here in Michelle's Etsy Store. She's a real beauty with that gorgeous hair isn't she?

I've used a bp from K&Co and another from Artylicious 'Decadent Brocade' cd and added some sparkly lace and velvet ribbon. The image is coloured with promarkers and she has some stickles in her hair for a little added sparkle. I've distressed around the image with tumbled glass distress ink.

Challenge #24 at Digi's With Attitude!

Hi there peeps, a big day here in the UK today as Wills and Kate get married, how very exciting! In fact if blogger plays nicely when this posts I'll be sat in front of the TV with a box of tissues sniffling as I watch lol. Why do weddings always make me cry?? Anyway enough waffle, its also a big day as its time for a new challenge over at Digi's With Attitude! and our theme is

"Who is a star in your life?" so we want to see a star somewhere on your project!!

I've used one of the gorgeous new images from Digi's With Attitude for my card, isn't she a glamour puss?? She is called Movie Star Tween and she is one of the new releases available at the Digi's With Attitude store. There is another new release available from today too, she is called 'Fortune Teller Tween' and she is a stunner

Anyway I'm chattering on so I'd better get back to my card, its a ginormous card! I remembered a wardrobe template I bought years ago and decided that the gorgeous Movie Star Tween would need a lovely wardrobe so i set too with card, distress inks, little swirl stamps, faux pearls and glue and managed to put it together (the air was blue at times as I'm useless at measuring and generally being neat lol). The image is coloured with promarkers, the bp is one of Crafty Ann's mottled stone collection. The black wired ribbon is from Crafty Ribbons and the embellishments are from a pack of stickers from Creative Station. The little dress was perfect with a tiny beaded coat hanger from my stash. I used the blingy necklace embellie to look like it was falling out of the drawer but apart from that she didn't make too much mess getting ready lol. You don't want to see my bedroom when I've been getting ready to go out .

Take a city or a country break with the Rainbow Lady

Hi there, this week at Rainbow Lady's Challenge. Cynthia has another great theme, she wants to see your creations inspired by the theme of a Country or a City break. We have a generous sponsor again this week, our lucky winner with receive a prize from the lovely Sharon Duncan. The DT were lucky enough to have some of Sharon's gorgeous embossabilities papers to work with. Unfortunately my horrible photography skills don't do this lovely bp any justice at all  so you'll have to take my word for how nice they are.

I changed the colour of the bp in picassa, a bit of a nightmare for me as I'm a complete technophobe lol. The image is an Oliver's Orchard stamp, painted with distress inks and die cut with a nestie. I've added some raffia lace, blue ribbon, cream ribbon and lots of paper flowers with faux pearl centres.

A colour challenge at Michelle Perkett Studio

Hi there, don't the weeks seem to go quickly or am I getting old?? Don't answer that lol. Its time for this weeks challenge at Michelle Perkett Studio and this week Shelly and her team of mermaids have a fab colour challenge for you, they want to see turquoise and brown projects. This is one of my favourite colour combinations and a perfect opportunity to colour Angelica as a brunette too. You can find Angelica and lots more stunning digi stamps in Michelle's Etsy Store.

As usual, i've coloured Angelica with promarkers and I've added turquoise stickles to the flowers in her hair. I've used a turquoise/teal bp and a brown bp from K&Co and punched the borders with a MP punch.I've used a beautiful chocolatey coloured ribbon from Crafty Ribbons, i've been saving it for ages but had to use it as I thought it was a perfect match for the colours in this card. The large swirly corners are a Chocolate Baroque stamp, embossed with vintage photo Distress EP. I've added some flowers from WOC which have been coloured with glimmer mists and blinged up with some more stickles.

Butterflies at CD Sunday

Its time for a new challenge at CD Sunday and this week the theme is 'Butterflies', its my last week as Guest Designer at CD Sunday so a big thank you to the DT for inviting me, i've really enjoyed my time with CD Sunday and its been great to explore my crafting cds again:-)

We all love butterflies and I have loads of butterfly stamps but this weeks theme was a perfect chance to use my new favourite stamp. Its absolutely ginormous and is from the 'Butterfly Dreams' themeplate from Chocolate Baroque. I'd already printed my bp out from Artylicious 'Essence of Nature' cd so I used the gorgeous pinks, lilacs and blues as my colour palette.

I brayered some glossy card with big'n'Juicy Hydrangea inkpad, masking a moon and then overstamped with the main image in versamark ink. I embossed with black detail EP and coloured the berries with Tinkabella 'Rose' ink, this dries to a lovely sheen - great for berries etc. Once the ink was dry I added white highlights with a Range inksentials white gel pen. the main image has 2 butterflies but I stamped out several on acetate and glittered the reverse. I ended up adding 5 acetate butterflies to the card with silicone glue to give the wings some dimension. I guess you can never have too many butterflies lol. You can see the detail better in this pic

Playing with Friendly plastic

I've never found friendly plastic to be very friendly before lol but when I saw the fab tutorials over at The Craft Barn I decided to give it a go and have a play. Here are a couple of pendants I made last night, apols for the truly horrible photo - the light is really weird here, I think we are in for a thunder storm!

There are 3 tutorials over at The Craft Barn and i've had a go at two of them, I wasn't up to tackling Neils gorgeous box tutorial lol. The pendant on the left uses the technique in Chris' tutorial. i've used silver black and purple FP. I joined up a load of scraps and heated them, laid a scrap of lace over the top and used a diamond shaped cutter (from The Craft Barn). Once it was cool i punched a couple of holes with a cropodile and coated it with glossy accents, adding some faux gems.. I've used  black cord to hang the pendant and a gunmetal bead from my stash dangling at the bottom.

The pendant on the right is made using the technique from Michelle's tutorial but I overheated the FP and it went a little holey lol. I quite liked the effect so I just stamped a rubber stamp into it and added a curve by shaping it with a pencil. Again holes punched with my cropodile and coat of glossy accents this time once it was dry I added a FP bead. I have quite  a few FP beads as every time i've tried to use it I've ended up with a total mess and rolled it up into a bead shape lol.

I'm really disappointed with the pics, they do look better in real life honest :-)

I did have a lot of fun making them though and I'm going to enter them in the FP challenge over at the Craft Barn

Hippity hoppity ....Happy Easter

Hi there and Happy Easter to you, I hope wherever you are the sun is shining and you're enjoying the Easter break. We're certainly having some gorgeous Spring weather here in the UK, perfect weather for sitting out in the garden with my promarkers :-)

I don't usually make Easter cards but this year i seem to have made a few, I couldn't let Easter pass without using Harvey, the Easter Bunny from Michelle Perkett though (he's available in Michelle's Etsy Store)

Harvey is coloured with promarkers and cut out with a nestie labels 4, I think he is the cutest little bunny!! I had a lot of inky fun making the tag for Harvey. I used yellow card and stamped with some egg stamps from Chocolate Baroque, I love these stamps as they come in 3 layers, a solid egg stamp, a layer of tiny dots and a layer of larger speckles - I used various inks to stamp them (Anna Griffin cream and duck egg pigment ink, and brown versafine). I added some little brown paw prints (Ok they are dog paws from Paper Pretties but i didn't have any rabbit paw stamps lol). I distressed the edges with brown ink added a yellow eyelet and some yellow gingham ribbon at the top of the tag. To finish off I added a yellow square 'Happy' eyelet that i've had for ages, i think it came with my cropodile.

A day for daisies

I've had a lovely start to my days off work, a little gardening and some crafting too. Here are a couple of cards I made this morning.

i've used a gorgeous freebie from 'A Day for Daisies' , coloured with promarkers and then sponged in the sky with Tumbled glass distress ink. The challenge at A Day for Daisies is dots and  stripes so i've picked out 3 bps from K&Co, one with dots, one with stripes and a floral. I've used this weeks sketch from Allsorts for the layout and added some lime ric rac, paper flowers and a sentiment from Whimsy Stamps.

Challenge #23 at Digi's With Attitude!

Hi, Friday at last and time for a new challenge over at Digi's With Attitude! and this week we want to see your Asian Style projects!! I've used the beautiful Geisha Tween who is one of the fab new images released in the store today!!

I've coloured the image with promarkers and added some starburst stains to the orchids for a little sparkle. The black card , gold braid and purple tassel are from my stash as is the asian coin charm. I've used a doiley lace Martha Stewart punch on the purple and black mats behind the image. The gorgeous purple and gold cardstock is from Hunky Dory, its so beautiful it nearly hurts to cut it lol. The purple and gold ribbon is actually from a reel of ribbon which I found with some clearance Christmas decorations earlier this year, what a bargain - 50p for 5m :-)
