At Graph'It this week, we're colouring denim. There are some gorgeous blues and greys in the Graph'It range so they are perfect for this challenge. As always we've got a fab prize from our sponsor Your Creativity Store up for grabs too so don't miss out on a chance to win!

I've used one of the lovely images from the Polkadoodles 'Dollie Daydream Girl Talk' cd which you can find here. i've coloured her with my Graph'it Markers, a full list of the colours I've used is on the challenge blog, its really interesting to see how using different shades creates different denim effects so do check out my teamies projects if you've got a minute.

The background was made with a Dutch Doobadoo stencil and i've added lots of other Dutch Doobadoo goodies too - the little laser cut corners, some gorgeous swirly flourishes and even the flowers we die cut from Dutch Doobadoo denim, well I couldn't resist for this weeks challenge lol. The buttons and netting are from my stash.

A bit of snipping and layering up, a sprinkle of glitter, some faux pearls, a little bow and a couple of little ticket sentiments and it was done! Glittered Rose from Chocolate Baroque

Hi there folks, today's card was made using the beautiful Mackintosh Windows stamps from Chocolate Baroque today. These stamps are stunning, I think I'll be using them again and again.
You can find all the new stamps here

I've made a distress ink background and overstamped with one of the stamps from Mackintosh Windows and then matted on some black card. I stamped the focal image on acetate and embossed with black embossing powder. I coloured the image on the reverse with Graph'It markers and then added some double sided adhesive sheet. Next I peeled the backing off the adhesive sheet and applied Rock Candy gliltter. I layered the glittered image on a die cut square and added a strip of faux gems along the side of the image.

I'm entering this card in the following challenges:
Amusing Challenges: anything goes
Eclectic Ellapu: sequins/gems/sparkle

Do you Doobadoo??

Good morning folks, exciting news alert!! For the last few weeks I've been lucky enough to be playing with some gorgeous new products by Dutch Doobadoo and omg they are fab-u-lous! There are all sorts of goodies including stencils, mdf, scrummy detailed laser cuts etc and believe me the Premium Craft Brands and Graph'It DTs have been having a whale of a time with them. Even more exciting is the fact that there is going to be a brand new challenge starting on March 8th, the challenge is called 'We do Doobadoo' so pop over and find out all about it (there's some candy up for grabs too!!). You can find all the new goodies at Polkadoodles here.

Before I start apologies for the rubbish photo, I was rushing to try and get some pics before I popped my samples in the post so the photos are worse than usual lol.

I've made a little 'New Home' wall hanging using the Shape Art 2 template, its really useful and much cheaper than buying large dies

Shape Art 2 - Nikkys Fave 3

The first layer was given a bit of texture with the PVA Crackle technique and edged with Treasure Gold. The next layer was made using the Doobadoo 'Bricks' template with Maimeri Light Modelling Paste and then coloured with PanPastels. The next layer was stamped with images from Chocolate Baroque, coloured with Graph'It Markers and a PanPastel sky.
The banner, birds and little flowers were magazine freebie stamps and the lock and key are paper laser cuts from Dutch Doobadoo as is the gorgeous honeycomb - all the DT are just in love with this stuff lol.

I'm entering this project in the following challenges:
4 Crafty Chicks: things with wings
ABC: F is for flowers
A&T emerald faeries: let see a banner
A Creative Romance: Lets get sentimental

Building Character at J52

Good morning my lovelies, after a busy few weeks a work and a poorly eye I'm playing catch up with Journal 52. This is my page for week 4 where Chelle's prompt was 'Building Character'

Now this was a very scary one for me as I don't draw but I set to and sketched the face and then left it for a few weeks. She kind of lurked in my craft room glaring at me with her pale face crying out for some colour but I didn't know where to start lol.

Anyway inspiration is never far away in blogland and I came across a fabulous video on the Paper Artsy Blog (check it out here, Clare Lloyd's tut is fab!!) I didn't want to use acrylics for my page so I used the same techniques from the tutorial but used my PanPastels (not as scary as paint ha ha) and Colorsoft pencisl to colour her in. Lastly I gave her a choker of lots of different problems and worries - they all build character lol. Around the edge I use a Graph'It shake pen in white to write 'This too will pass' here and there, its alright all this character building but we all need a break now and then lol.

I'm entering my journal page in the following challenges:
Crafty Creations: keep it simple
Little Red Wagon: papercraft project but not a card
Try it on Tuesday: Hand made

Well Monday morning is here again so I'd better go and earn some pennies, have a good day and thanks for popping by today

Stencilling at Premium Craft Brands

Good morning folks and happy Sunday to you! This week at Premium Craft Brands Challenge we're having a few changes and our challenges are going to be every two weeks to give everyone more time to enter and to give us more time to share some top tips and tutorials. There are loads of exciting new products coming up too so all in all its a very exciting time in PanPastel Land!
Here's my inspiration project for our 'Stencilling' challenge

I found this long thin canvas at the Works, a real bargain and perfect for this project. I created my background with PanPastels, mixing the colours (you'll never guess which colours I used to make the purple shades ... Magenta and Turquoise! great fun as its like alchemy when the purples start to .emerge). I stamped here and there with an Indigo Blu harlequin stamp and versamark ink before brushing with some silver PanPastel.  I've used one of the gorgeous Pronty Stencils in the corners with Maimeri Iridescent Paste. The gorgeous stamps are from Lavinia Stamps, and I've added lots of stickles in various shades for some sparkle.

The Chipboard letters were coated with Maimeri Iridescent Paste and Pewter PanPastels, sprinkled with a little glitter and some blobs of rock candy crackle paint.

I just love love love this quote, my lovely friend Annie made me a beautiful note book with this sentiment and I just had to use it on this canvas. I've printed it out on the computer, cut it out and edged the words with glitter. The sentiment reads: Art is the only way to run away without leaving home and its by Twyla Tharp.

I'm entering this project in the following challenges:
4 Crafty Chicks: things with wings
Crafting for all seasons: Sentiment as the focus
A Creative Romance: Lets get sentimental
Divas by Design: rubber stamps
Tuesday Throwdown: anything with wings

Thanks for visiting today, have a lovely day

Anything goes at Fashionable Stamping Challenges

Hello my lovelies, hope you're having a good weekend. I'm having a lazy one as I'm soooooooooo tired after another busy week at work. No matter how lazy you feel though you have to check out our new challenge at Fashionable Stamping Challenges where we have a nice easy theme of 'Anything Goes'. As always my lovely teamies have created some stunning projects and our generous sponsor Flonzcraft has a fabby $20 voucher up for grabs so I hope you're going to join us! Don't forget though, we're a stamping challenge, no digis allowed!

I've created a sewing themed card using one of my favourite Flonzcraft stamps as the focal image 'Vintage Fashion Girl Thirties 03', its stamped on kraft card and embossed with WOW vanilla white EP. I've layered it up over a button card also embossed with White EP and a tape measure (both from Indigo Blu).  They are layered up over some cheesecloth. The background is Ranger Kraft Resist, which I painted with watered down gesso and wiped with a baby wipe. Once the gesso was dry I stamped the pins and embossed with silver EP, adding little pearls to the heads of the pins.

To finish off I've added a little cotton reel,  lace, ribbon, a wooden button with a twine bow and a brass scissors charm. I used a White Graph'It Shake pen for the faux stitching, omg this is the best white pen I've ever tried , love it!

Happy birthday from Chocolate Baroque

Good morning my lovelies, hope your'e having a good week. I've been a bit quiet on the blogging front as I've not been too well but I'm back this morning with a card made using the beautiful new stamps Mackintosh Windows  from Chocolate Baroque and fantasy film/fibre. Like a lot of us I have a box full of Fantasy Film and Fibre that I never seem to use and also have a bag of scraps and off cuts so I thought I'd use some up to give this lovely lady a bit of bling. The focal image is from the new stamp set Mackintosh Windows, you can find it here

The background is made with distresss inks (Peacock Feathers, Everngreen Bough and Seedless Preserves) applied to my craft mat, misted with water and then by swooshing some white card stock through the inky puddle several time.
The focal image was stamped with Memento Tuxedo black and coloured with Graph'It Markers, inked around the edges and matted on white and then black card.
I made the film/fibre embellishments by taking a small piece of Fantasy Film layering up lots of little scraps of film/fibre and then holding that in place with another layer of film. I inked the stamp up with Black stazon, put the film/fibre 'sandwich' on top of that and then a layer of baking parchment. Lastly I ironed it on a medium heat. I don't have a craft iron so I use my ordinary iron with the steam turned off.

To finish off i've stamped the sentiment from the new 'Mackintosh Sentiments' set - some gorgeous fonts on there!! And I've added some little gems and a purple bow

I'm entering this card in the following challenges:
Crafting from the Heart: anything goes/ use flowers
Divas by Design: rubber stamps only
Love to Create: make it sparkle
Shopping our Stash: make your own embellishment

A new challenge at Premium Craft Brands PanPastel Challenge

Good morning folks, we've got a really fun challenge over at Premium Craft Brands PanPastel Challenge this week,, pop on over and find out about the fabby prize and check out the gorgeous projects from my lovely teamies. The DT were challenged to make an embellishment with a stencil, now I really struggled with this for a start but then I decided to have a play with Maimeri Light modelling paste and my favourite Birds and Leaves stencil (you can find them here)

Now this is an A4 stencil so it was a real challenge to try and use it on this little mdf heart so I used it to make the little birds and leaves. I just used a palette knife to spread the light modelling paste through the stencil on to my craft sheet and left it to try. Once they were dry (I left them over night to be sure) they peeled off the craft sheet so I could use them as embellies on my project. I coloured them with PanPastels but you could also use markers

I gave the heart (from Indigo Blu) a base coat of gesso and then used acrylic paints spplied with a baby wipe. The stamps were a magazine freebie, stamped with Memento Inks, apart from the sentiment which is from Chocolate Baroque.  Once the ink was dry I gave it a coat of Maimeri Matte Medium and popped the stencil embellies on and gave them all another coat of Matte Medium. I used maimeri gold acrylic paint to edge the heart and added some blingy flowers to finish off.

I'm entering this project in the following challenges:

A creative romance: lets get sentimental
All crafts: anything but a card
Bunny Zoe's: hearts/ love
Oooh La La: use a heart
Papertake Weekly: with a heart
Whoospi Daisy: sentiment
Thanks so much for visiting today, have a good day and hope to see you again soon

Hello folks, goodness me we're having some awful weather. I think I'd rather have snow that all this horrible wind and rain. Today's card is another sample using this gorgeous image from Mackintosh Beauty, one of this months new releases from Chocolate Baroque. She is such a lovely image, perfect for brides but also lovely for any girly occasion, you can find her here with this months new releases.

I've stamped her on vellum, added some colour on the reverse and then embossed with a ball tool to give some white highlights. I've layered the image up on some black card using some crystal brads to secure the image. The background was made by stamping and embossing the images and again adding some colour with Graph'Its. I've added a black seam binding bow and a pink ribbon rose.

I'm entering this in the following challenges:
Crafty Ribbons: ribbons and bows
Delicious Doodles: ribbon and bling

Fabric and Canvas at Premium Craft Brands

Good morning my lovelies, oh my goodness its been blowing a gale here all night. I hope you're keeping dry and warm in this awful weather, its perfect weather for crafting though so I guess its not all bad. We've got a new challenge over at Premium Craft Brands PanPastel challenge and its an anything goes theme this week although the DT were challenged to use fabric or canvas so I decided to use both for my project.

I've used an 8x8 canvas that I'd actually started but it looked totally awful so I gave it a coat of Maimeri Gesso, adding texture with a palette knife. Next came a layer of Platinum White Acrylic paint, sprinkled with some Permanent Red Tint and Gold PanPastels. Once that was dry I blended the pans and then set to with Maimeri Light Modelling Paste and the gorgeous flower curl stencil and added a tiny bit more gold PanPastel. I painted the edges of the canvas with Maimeri Gold acrylic paint and then left it to dry

I used Maimeri Matte Medium to attach the doily and gave it another coat to seal it. The flower was made with layers of fabric and netting coloured with Permanent Red Tint PanPastel, edged with a little Matte Medium and sprinkled with glamour dust. The little rose in the centre was made with Light Modelling Paste in a silicone mould.

I added some pearl swirls to and a die cut butterfly to finish off.

I'm entering this in the following challenges:
Country View Crafts: painty pleasures
Craftitude: anything goes/love/Valentines
Crafts and Me: photo inspiration
Fussy and Fancy: be my valentine

Glasgow Wedding

Have you seen the new stamps at Chocolate Baroque this month? Oh my goodness they are absolutely gorgeous, there are two new sets of images, Mackintosh Beauty and Mackintosh Windows and some fab sentiments in the most gorgeous fonts too. This is is my first sample using them and I used both Mackintosh Beauty and Mackintosh Windows to make this card (you can find them here)

The image is stamped with Memento Tuxedo black ink and coloured with Graph'It Markers, I've added a little stickles to the centre of the roses and some faux gems in the corners. I've distressed the edges and layered the image up on black card. I added the lovely rose heart from the Mackintosh Beauty set, again coloured with Graph'It Markers.

The background was made with distress inks, I used Spun Sugar, Evergreen bough and a little Iced Spruce. I used tiny amounts of ink on my blending mat and spritzed with lots of water to get a very muted background. Once this ink was dry I overstamped with some of the Mackintosh Windows, stamping very lightly to give a hint of the design here and there. I've gone to town with lots of lace, ribbon, some rolled ribbon roses and some pretty bead string from my stash.

I decorated the inside to match, but kept to a very subtle colour palette, I made this before the new sentiments were released so I may have to make another lol. I really enjoyed making this card as these stamps are so pretty. I even decorated a box to match

I'm entering this card in the following challenges:

A Creative Romance: show us some love
Bearly Mine: vintage romance
Crafting for all Seasons: show us some romance

Nikky will be on C&C tomorrow (Friday 7th at 2pm) and as always she'll have some brilliant demos and inspiration colouring tips and techniques up her sleeve so make sure you tune in.

I am sailing

Good morning folks, Wednesday already so its downhill to the weekend lol. I really must stop wishing my weeks away. Today's card features one of the beautiful precoloured backgrounds and a digital image from the Polka Doodles 'Cherry Blossom Lane' CD. I don't usually like animal images but I absolutely adore these gorgeous bunny rabbits.

I used publisher to layer the image over the background. I coloured the image with Graph'It Markers and lots of Mix'It fluid to get more of a watercolour effect and used a corner punch to round the corners. I layered the image up on white card and some olive green card and for once decided to leave it CAS rather than add lots of embellies.

I'm entering this card in the following challenges:
Come and Get It: Clean and simple

Here's a pic of the finished card, the background was made using Ranger kraft resist paper and acryic paint, once the paint was dry I used a white sharpie pen to add some faux stitching.
